The Pines is a unique four-bedroom, three-bathroom vacation home located in the Old Town district of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The home features a private heated pool with outside bar, private terrace off the Primary Suite, two gas fireplaces, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and an abundance of natural light. The Pines is a home full of character and completely equipped with many amenities, all within walking distance to historic Queen Street, the Niagara River and Lake Ontario.

We invite you to enjoy our home with family and friends. We offer it to guests who seek the comforts and privacy of vacationing in their own home and are looking for an authentic Niagara-on-the-Lake experience.

The Pines is the perfect place for celebrating special occasions and creating memories.

The inviting main floor offers an open concept space with large principal rooms. This great layout offers friends and family the opportunity to easily gather and move between the Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room.

The spacious Dining Room has a large pine harvest table that seats 8-10 people. The warm morning sunlight pours in from the double French doors and transom lights above the leaded glass front windows. The unique tin ceiling, recovered from a bank in the 1920’s, make the home feel truly unique.

The charming farmhouse kitchen features solid Cherry wood cabinets, a double antique porcelain sink, Heartland stove, dishwasher, microwave and is fully equipped with kitchen essentials.

The Living Room features plenty of comfortable seating for family gatherings and movie nights. The room provides both comfort and function with a gas fireplace, flat-screen TV, DVD player and an antique phonograph . The French door off of this room leads to the fourth bedroom and main floor washroom.

The fourth bedroom affectionately known as, Morning Dove, is located on the main floor at the back of the house. The room features a queen bed with a 3-piece ensuite with a pedestal sink and shower stall. This main floor bedroom is a room that earlier risers tend to select.

The bright and well-equipped laundry room with walkout to the pool area completes the inviting main floor.

The distinctive staircase, which was reclaimed from a local farmhouse, leads you to the upper hallway. The second floor features three spacious bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The fourth bedroom and ensuite are located on the main level.

The expansive primary suite, The Starling Room, features cathedral ceilings, private balcony, fireplace and a queen shaker bed, along with a flat screen TV and a day bed. The private ensuite boasts an antique claw foot tub, shower stall with subway tiles, and cathedral ceilings with a skylight. The Starling boasts a private balcony nestled among the tall pines overlooking the pool. This is the perfect place to enjoy the first cup of coffee in the morning or stargaze with your favourite glass of wine in the evening.

The Starling (30’x18’) can accommodate 2 adults with a child or 3 adults.

The second bedroom, The Sparrow Room, features a maple queen sleigh bed. The three windows in the room overlook the white picket fence in the front yard where you just may spot a Niagara-on-the-Lake Sparrow. There is a door between the ensuite and the hallway making it a private ensuite bathroom or it can open to the hall for others on the floor to share. The four-piece ensuite features a vintage pedestal sink, deep tub and shower and white wainscoting.

The Sparrow can accommodate up to 2 adults.

The third bedroom, The Bluebird Room, is bright and warm and features a classic white wicker double bed and a cozy daybed. The décor in the room will remind you to keep your eyes open for Bluebirds.

The Bluebird can accommodate two adults with a child or 3 adults.

Nestled among the majestic pines you will find the beautiful private yard with a heated swimming pool. Enjoy the oasis on the loungers by the pool or in the double size hammock. Cook up a meal on the natural gas barbeque and enjoy your favourite beverage at the outdoor bar. This outdoor oasis is the perfect setting for a family dinner after a long day of fun by the pool or adventures in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The heated pool is open Victoria Day long weekend until mid September. During the Summer season the heated pool is maintained at 86 degrees.

Cozy family home in a nice neighborhood, about a 15 minute walk to the main shopping area and minutes to local wineries. The house was clean and had all we needed for our stay. The host was easy to work with and she was quick to respond to questions and offer suggestions.

Lovely and spacious home near town. Lived up to all expectations - pictures and online description very accurate. Owners Ivana and Anthony were very responsive. Pool is spectacular - warm and clean! Kitchen well appointed, great for occasional meals. Four mature women each had their own room and were able to spread out! Highly recommended!

Simcoe Pines definitely has the charm one would expect in Old Town NOTL. Its location on a quiet intersection, but not far from Queen Street, made it very relaxing and convenient. The hosts were very welcoming, made communication quite easy and were quick to attend to our questions and requests. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable week. Pros 1 - comfortable patio, deck, and pool area 2 - kitchen generously stocked with equipment and other helpful supplies 3 - open style (spacious) kitchen and dining room area 4 - fast and reliable internet, really appreciated being able to stream music to the pool area Cons 1 - we are people who like to read, do puzzles, and play games, so the general dim lighting in the house was problematic, notably on the first floor. Using lower brightness bulbs certainly provides charm, but at the expense of activities that benefit from good illumination. 2 - we typically cook breakfast and lunches in the homes we rent, and the stove (modern construction, antique look) had issues with the stovetop heat controls. Our hosts were quick to try to address these issues, but we still had challenges being able to set and adjust burner heat. A more permanent solution might be needed. Ideas 1 - The first floor bedroom has a queen size bed, but is a relatively small room, especially for two people. As a result, there is very minimal space for storage, and no clothes drawers in the room. We'd suggest swapping the Bluebird room's full-size bed to the first floor room, adding a small clothes drawer, and moving the queen bed upstairs. 2 - the pedestal sink in the shared bathroom on the second floor has independent controls for cold and hot water, which makes it hard to get warm water. We just changing out the faucets to allow warm water control. 3 - we enjoyed ourselves in the patio/deck/pool area. We love all the trees on the property, but think there might be an opportunity for some judicious trimming of tree branches to enable a bit more sunlight to reach the pool.
