Located in the Mauricie region, in the municipality of Grandes-Piles, the Chalet de Grandes-Piles offers you the cottage life—with the sound of the river, spectacular views, and a vacation atmosphere. This magnificent location, appealing in all four seasons, offers a perfect harmony between the river, the fresh air, the mountains, and comfort.
Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or a vacationer seeking relaxation, you’ll be treated to spectacular sunsets in both summer and winter. You can enjoy the water in summer and the ice in winter. Enjoy the great outdoors along the national trail, the magnificent mountains and cliffs behind the chalet, or the Mauricie Regional Park.
This luxurious three-story home features 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen with a spacious island, and 2 living rooms. The chalet can comfortably accommodate 12 people.
Outside, you’ll find a large wraparound deck, a BBQ, an outdoor fire pit, a children’s play area, and plenty of green space!

Running alongside the St-Maurice River—where you can ice skate in the winter and swim in the summer—this navigable waterway, stretching nearly 200 km, offers a wide range of water activities in the summer and a large snowmobile trail in the winter.
*If you have your own boats, the marina is located 2 minutes from the cottage.
*Boats of all kinds are readily available for rent at Maximum Locations.
The cottage is equipped with a security system and an alarm system. For the safety of the property and all our guests, there is also a security system with a camera at the entrance (outside only) of the residence.
Hiking
- The National Trail: the Père Jacques-Buteux section of the National Trail in Grandes-Piles. It overlooks the St-Maurice River and crosses several lakes, streams, and small waterfalls, not to mention numerous loops and cliffs that offer a good challenge to hikers.
- Rocanigan Valley - The Kingdom of Snowshoeing: Discover Vallée Rocanigan in full swing: 16 loops totaling 12 km of marked snowshoe trails in the mountains, 3 km of snow scooter trails, an ice rink on the lake, and a stop at a heated yurt where you’ll be served a delicious cup of hot chocolate for free. (Snowshoe, crampon, and snow scooter rentals available).
The fabulous Mauricie National Park, located 27 km from the Chalet, offers the following winter activities:
- Cross-country skiing: over 80 km of trails within a protected natural area. Mauricie National Park offers a marked and groomed trail network for both classic and freestyle cross-country skiing. Heated rest stops are available approximately every five kilometers.
- Snowshoe trails: Mauricie National Park offers eight marked trails in the heart of nature. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or expert, you’ll find a trail that suits your skill level.
- Fat bikes: Explore the suggested routes.

Just 45 minutes from the Chalet, enjoy ice fishing in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, with its ice huts and whitefish fishing.

Lots of sleeping space for a large family. Everything you need in the kitchen including utensils, paper towel and garbage bags. Deck space is large and covered in case of rain

We attendedca family wedding in Shawinigan. This property was clean, well equiped and gorgeous. We were able to have two families fit under one roof which was amazing. It rained most of the day we were there but the scenic views were gorgeous.

The property is huge and can accommodate many people. It is very nice for small kids because there are toys. It is also nice for teenagers and adults as there is a nice selection of society games available.
The kitchen is well furnished and you can find all the equipment you need to cook.
The view on the river is nice. There are many windows which brings plenty of light during the day. At night, the lightning is not very bright.
The internet connection is fast and is provided through Starlink. I had to clean the satellite dish after a snow storm. We lost internet because of the snow build up on the dish.

We enjoyed this chalet very much. Très bien située et équipé - la natation, kayak, SUP et des ballades se sont facilement faites depuis Point-aux-Trembles. Very comfy and relaxed with great views!
