Welcome to your private weekend getaway retreat.
This newly renovated two bedroom cozy cottage is the perfect location for your winter reprieve located just an 1.5 hour north of Ottawa.
With an outdoor hot tub and fireplace, it is the perfect setting to end your active day of snowshoeing (provided), local skiing, hiking, or any other outdoor activity.
The cottage features two bedrooms, a full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, bbq, hot tub, internet, wood fireplace with firewood, 300 sq.ft. deck, outdoor fire pit, and lake access for cross country skiing.
Outdoor activities extend beyond the lake year-round. Access to hiking, ATV and snowmobile trails are at your doorstep. Mont Ste-Marie ski resort (the highest mountain between the Laurentians and the Rockies) is less than 45 minutes away.
Only two kilometers from the village of Lac Cayamant you will find Epicerie Mulligan, a depanneur general store with SAQ, homemade pizza, poutine, burgers, submarine sandwiches, and they offer delivery!
Provided for your evening entertainment are Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Apple TV. Kitchen amenities include microwave, stove, fridge, toaster, kettle, bar, wine cooler, and a coffee bar providing Starbucks beans, a coffee maker, grinder, and milk frother.
To ease in your weekend vacation planning, the cottage offers you with all the essentials: bedding, towels, washcloths, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, garbage and recycle bags, firewood, BBQ, propane tank. Just bring your food, clothing and personal items. Being on a natural septic, guests are encouraged to use natural and organic soaps and shampoos.

The cottage was a perfect size for 4 people. We had everything we needed for a great stay. Nice big deck and the hot tub help with the relaxation. Lots of wood on hand for toasty fires inside and out.

Chris the owner was amazing. Accommodating, flexible, easy to talk to and the location, it was fabulous. I rented this unit to attend my son's wedding. I look forward to renting it in the future to enjoy just because.

Overall we had a good experience, mostly due to the location/outdoor experience.
The lake was beautiful. We enjoyed the dock and kayaks.
The grounds were spacious and the fire pit with fire wood was a benefit.
The deck and outdoor seating area were another highlight.
However, the cottage itself was okay.
It was very superficially cleaned on arrival (many of the garbage cans had garbage in them, some garbage under the couch). There was also a lot of food already in the refrigerator which took some organizing as we had brought a lot of food with us. The kitchen was stocked but there were some old/damaged items (a few bowls that were cracked and leaking).
The wifi was quite slow. I had specifically asked about this prior to booking as one of the members of the group needed to work and was assured by the host that it would be capable of things like video calls/meetings. However, it is slow and was challenging to work remotely.
There is no air conditioning. There were 3 floor fans, one of which had a broken base. It was quite hot at times.
Overall we loved the area and lake but the cottage itself was underwhelming.
