About this chalet rental
Look out into the canopy of oak, pine and poplars from this squared timber cottage on a small, quiet lake 1 hr 15 mins from Ottawa. Large screened-in porch and beautiful view from the main bedroom. 2 bedrooms in the walk-out basement plus 3 single beds in the bunkie space next to the family room. Full bathrooms on each level.
A 36 foot deck spans the front of the chalet with shade in the morning and mottled sunlight in the afternoon. West facing, 12 foot high windows make for beautiful sunsets year round. We are often visited by hummingbirds and woodpeckers.
The cottage sits high on a hill and it is a walk to the waterfront, with a combination of trail and stairs. Once on the lake, there is a large dock, a floating mat, 2 paddleboards, 3 kayaks and a canoe. There are great gravel bike routes and lots of cottage roads for walking/hiking. Once the lake freezes in the winter you can ski or snowshoe and, depending on conditions, we sometimes have a skating rink. Healthy pike and bass populations await the angler.
The cottage is located on a small lake in a quiet cottage community. In keeping with this we are looking to rent to families and small groups of mature individuals who will respect the nature of the lake community. Noise is not tolerated beyond 11 pm. Motorized boats permitted on the lake, but there aren’t very many of them.
We are a dog-friendly family and your furry friends are welcome (though not on the furniture, please).
Level 2 EV charger for electric vehicles.
Bath and beach towels provided, but we ask that you bring your own bed linens.
Check-in after 4 pm on day of arrival
Check-out before 11 am on last day of reservation

• 2 night minimum rental September – June
• $250/night Monday to Thursday
• $300/night Friday to Sunday
• $1500/week
• $250 security deposit
Summer rates

The property was idyllic. Location incredible. Views for days. Cottage extremely clean. Very very cozy and well stocked. Highly recommend. Host very responsive and attentive. Definitely stay again.

I had the task of renting a cottage for myself and International business travellers during a trade show. I was worried because I had never booked with Vrbo before. This cottage looked good in the pictures but they do not capture the beauty of this place in real life. The open concept main floor was excellent and the lake view relaxing after a long day of work. It was so quiet on the lake, the only sound being from the loons. Our host was excellent and answered all of our questions perfectly. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

My recent 3 days gateway etreat at this charming chalet was a pure delight. Set amidst serene surroundings, the chalet offered a perfect blend of comfort and tranquility.
The interior exuded a welcoming atmosphere with its tasteful decor and cozy ambiance. The living area, illuminated by natural light, became a favorite spot for relaxation, especially with the inviting fireplace.
Located in a peaceful natural setting, the chalet provided a welcome escape without sacrificing convenience. It's an ideal retreat for those seeking a tranquil getaway.
In conclusion, this chalet exceeded expectations with its thoughtful design, comfort, and natural charm. I highly recommend it for a rejuvenating escape into nature. Looking forward to returning soon!
