About this house rental

5 bedrooms, 5 ½ baths (including ½ bath in garage)

MAIN FLOOR – Step into Seagrape with its stunning views of the Gulf, dunes and manicured lawn with a golf hole (think also Hyannis Port type football game). Real wood wide plank floors welcome you into the foyer and on into the spacious Great Room with high exposed beam ceilings and tall windows for unobstructed views of the Gulf – watch for the dolphins and shrimp boats! Enjoy the gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops, pebble backsplash, gas range, Bosch dishwasher, French door refrigerator, sit at bar counter and coffee bar. Round dining table seats 8 with additional seating at bar or at the colorful corner table or at 2 dining tables under cover on the beachside deck (tables seat 13). On this main level, which is accessible from 2 sided lift, find 2 king sized bedrooms: The Shiplap-walled Master suite features organic king sized mattress, luxury bed linens, Sit at wall desk with chair, Jetta whirlpool tub, double vanities, Carrera quartz countertops, lighted makeup mirror, walk in shower with long bench, Pharmacopia bath amenities, large closet; 2nd King size bedroom with luxury bed linens has adjacent full shower/tub bath, small step stool for kiddos, shampoo, conditioner and body wash and big thick and thirsty bath towels.
The 3rd bedroom on this level is the large middle bedroom, which is nautically themed with 3 extra long twin beds, adjacent full shower/tub bath, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, step stool for kiddos and big thick and thirsty bath towels.
All the bedrooms on this level can be closed off from the great room by the pocket doors – fantastic for privacy and sound muffling.

TOP FLOOR-If you liked the views on the Main level, wait ‘til you see them from here! This floor has the second King sized Master suite with luxury bed linens, a huge ensuite bath of double vanities with Carrera quartz countertops, walk in shower with bench and Pharmacopia bath amenities. This suite has a very large closet with ventilation that accommodates play pen, crib or full size blow up mattress. According to parents of children who like total darkness to sleep, this is the best room of the house (and far from other house sounds)! My 2 year old granddaughter power sleeps in this place!!
More sleeping space on this level in the bunk room with double on the bottom and twin on the top. Adjacent to this room is a full bath with shower/tub, step stool for small ones, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and large thick and thirsty bath towels
Between the 2 bedrooms on this level, a separate living area has ginormous TV, Keurig coffee bar and electric tea kettle, small fridge, futon seating/bed and leads to the top deck with its miles in every direction views and sitting area. Watch the sunrise, coffee in hand, in your bathrobe. Ahhh

BEACH DECK – Enough with the inside, let’s get to the real reason you are coming here – OUTSIDE!! Enjoy a glass of wine on this mainlevel beachside deck. Here you’ll find 2 dining tables (under covered areas), 4 super comfy adjustable chaise lounges and 4 Summer Classics spring chairs. All so comfortable. Just steps from the kitchen, be part of the action even if you need to keep an eye on the stove. From this deck, descend the beachside dramatic flared stairs, which also make for a great place for group photos.

SUNSET DECK – Accessible from the main level Master suite or from the full walk around deck, take your beverage of choice here to watch daylight fade and the incredible Texas Gulf Coast evening sky jump to life. Ahhh inspiring sunsets! You can even see the barges on the Intracoastal from here.

GROUND LEVEL – The Covered carport (parking for up to 4 cars, plenty of room uncovered for the rest) leads to the garage via its side door or beachside garage door. Here you will find all the beach amenities – chairs, tent, sand toys, boogie boards, ice chests – and the piece de resistance – THE MANITOWOC COMMERCIAL ICE MACHINE (makes as much as 120 pounds per day depending on outside temperature). Guests say this is the real game changer!! This machine makes small, clear cubes – great for ice chests and wonderful for drink ice. The Club Car 6 seater golf cart resides here, alongside the kids’ John Deere drivable car (both available for rent) and the 2nd refrigerator/freezer. At the beach? Gotta go??? Half bath with toilet and sink is in this garage (truly also a game changer!)
Want to BBQ? You have choices – make a fire in the copper firepit that has grates for cooking (removable for just a fire) or roll out the Chargriller smoker/grill combo.
THE BEACH - From here, take a meander by foot past the golf hole and flagpole down the groomed path to the beach. As you go, glance at the prickly pear cactus, ice plant, cat tails and seagrape. These along with sea oats and other Texas native dune plants, help the dunes to maintain and grow and help prevent beach erosion.

Our nonprofit leadership team enjoys an annual retreat at Crystal Beach. We chose Seagrape this year because it offered a bathroom for each traveler, and the owner allowed guests to use the cargo elevator for a reasonable fee (a refreshing change). The interior was immaculate, warm and welcoming. The ocean view from the kitchen and living room was fantastic. The bedrooms were spacious, with plenty of towels, and the beds were comfy. The master bath even had a lighted magnifying makeup mirror. The kitchen was cozy for five adults but equipped with more than we needed. The coffee station and mini fridge upstairs added a nice touch. Perhaps it was due to previous hurricane damage, but the outdoor deck furniture was not ideal. One of the lounge chairs was broken. Also, the cushions were quite dirty. Bird droppings, etc. are expected and inevitable, and we normally just hose the furniture down. Obviously, you can't hose off cushions and use them right away. I'd encourage guests to bring extra blankets/towels to lay over them. Prior to our arrival, the owner advised the golf cart was broken. We rented one from the RV park across the street, which was convenient and saved us some money, too (we used it only 1 day). The best part was the peace and quiet! The beach was easily accessible and lacked the traffic we're used to, which was a blessing and made our stay so peaceful. I would definitely recommend Seagrape to fellow travelers!

Very clean; comfortable. Amazing amount of kitchen utensils. Great room under house with commercial ice maker, bathroom (great for quick runs from the beach); additional refrigerator and the big bonus of many beach items (lots of chairs, pop up tent etc). Nice open porches to view the beach. Was our first visit to Crystal Beach. Beaches were clean, not crowed at all (we went in Oct) and lots of seashells! Not as commercial area as Port Aransas (plan to fix meals) but we truly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend renting this property! Thank you for a great rental property - we would definitely rent again. We had everything we needed.

Pros: Beautiful and quiet location. Spacious rooms and bathrooms, fireplace beautiful and amazingly warm. Plenty of bathroom linen. Property manager quick to respond to concerns/issues. Cons: There was an awful foot/mildew smell in the whole house and a thick layer of dust on all of the shelving (primary bedroom downstairs and living room especially). When we arrived we had to scrub the kitchen counters and dinning room table - there was a thin layer of grime. We had to push the dining room table away from the kitchen counter to make more room to walk through- only to find a bunch of dust/dirt and live silverfish underneath. The property manager was quick to respond to our concerns and offered to have their cleaning service return the next day, but because it was Thanksgiving eve and we had already done our own cleaning on arrival we passed- to avoid the hassle/stress of packing and moving our belongings- with more family expected to visit/join us for the holiday. There are cameras INSIDE of the home (we didn't notice any outside of the property)- which we thought unusual for a rental. The rugs throughout the home are very worn and dirty. As mentioned in another review this home has so much potential, but definitely needs some TLC and a deep cleaning!
