We found this house very clean and had plenty of space for our family of three. The pool is just outside the front door and was never crowded during our stay. During mid-afternoon, the water feels like a hot tub and is far from refreshing, but hard to control that in July on the coast. For those that haul equipment down to the beach every day, a few notes...130 steps from the front door to the intersection of W Gate and Perdido Beach blvd. Perdido Beach is a pretty busy 4 lane rd, but the pedestrian push button at the intersection is incredibly fast and makes crossing very easy. From the intersection, it is an additional 230 steps to the beach. No stairs down to the sand. Very convenient and close. Sure was nicer than the flights of stairs we are used to on most of 30a. Golf carts are not allowed on Perdido Beach blvd, but are allowed throughout the neighborhood and you can cross over perdio beach and drive up to the beach. Wasn't worth it to us, but we did see several people with them. Plenty of activities to do in the area. We tried Southern Rose Dolphin Tours, kayaking with gulf shores bike rentals.com, and golfed at Gulf Links in Foley, AL. We enjoyed all and would recommend those. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the house/location was great. We would definitely come back.

First of all, I thought I was booking through VRBO. Then it took me to the Vassca website. So I booked through Vasca. I was not happy about this from the very beginning. I had heard bad things about them and read a lot of bad reviews about Vasca and I did not ever want to rent through them, but I did anyway after it redirected me to the vasa website. The first place we stayed was full of roaches and had to be moved to another place.. they put us on beach side, which was very nice. But the place was old dated and ran down. I could not even cook decent meal in the place without burning food in the nasty pans and pots that was in the place. So needless to say, I was not very happy with my stay. I did enjoy it because I’m that kind of person that I try to overlook the bad and find the Good. But the roaches I could not overlook

The quick easy walk to the beach was great!

Home is located in a great area with access to beach, gulf shores national park and restaurants BUT the property management group is less than proactive and does not communicate/follow up on any concerns or questions. Home needs minor cosmetic help (paint front porch, replace broken dirty blinds on entry doors, replace the dirty pillows on couch) and the home needs a deep cleaning! It’s listed for sale and the owner should be told of its current condition as it isn’t helping the possible sale!

I was nervous renting across the street from the beach as the main road is very busy and we had a toddler with us but there is a crosswalk with a light. The light stops very quickly so no waiting around. It was very easy to get to the beach. The house was clean and well decorated. The mattress was very nice and soft for a rental. The kitchen had everything we needed during our stay. The pool was very close to the house and was well maintained. The community was lovely, quiet, and a great place to go on walk after a big seafood dinner. I would definitely stay here again.

This home was in a great location. It’s nice being located near the crosswalk for easy beach access. I also enjoyed the surrounding walking trails. The home had everything we needed for my family of 4. It was nice to be able to bring our doggie along.

Such wonderful accommodations. Clean, new and modern. To allow a pet was even better. Great walking trail within 5 minutes towards the back of the property. If you cross the wooden bridge and take a right, you may even spot alligators (at a fenced-in area). Thanks for a great time.

Very clean. Kitchen well stocked. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Great TVs. Nice shower. Liked that it was steps away from the crosswalk to bring us across the road to the beach. Dogs can't be on the beach, so we walked our dog on the miles of trails in the State Park. We found a footbridge in the back of the neighborhood that goes right onto the trails.

The residence was clean but at the same time very "shop worn." Furniture was worn and soiled, streaks and smears on the walls, some of the appliances didn't work, lighting was faulty. A lot of small things that could easily be fixed and touched up.

We loved our stay here! It was just a short walk to the beach and we were very grateful to find a space for our dog even though the beaches are not dog friendly in Orange Beach. If you’re cold-natured like me, you might want to bring some extra blankets for the beds. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here!

Loved staying here and highly recommend! The house had everything we needed for a winter beach getaway. Within minutes walk across the street you are at the beach. There are heaps of good restaurants and bars around and lots to do even during off-season. The house is inviting, tastefully decorated, clean and very well appointed. Plenty of beds for a family stay without being too large for a couple. Thank you for the wonderfully memorable stay at By the Beach!

The Cottage is well maintained and well equiped. TV's in all of the rooms. The kitchen has all of the utensils, gadgets that you will need. the appliances are new and good working order. The photos online are a good representation of the house. We found it comfortable for 4 adults. However, there are some things that we would like to point out: cleanliness - floor had obviously been swept but after walking around during our first day, our feet were black which would suggest the floor had not been mopped. ceiling fan on the main floor was dirty with dust and the return vent also was extremely dusty. The white couch cover showed stains , especially the big one on the back where a male dog had obviously peed. the blind on the side door did not work, likely broken and needs to be replaced. there is no outside seating. Other units in the complex had chairs on the front porch. there is no hose to wash off the beach gear (we went to walmart and bought one so we could wash off our chairs and umbrella). the outside shower was not much more than a trickle. The pool area is in good condition. looks new. good seating, however, there were two umbrella tables and both umbrellas were broken so there was no shade during the day. Lastly, the beach - the walk to the beach is more than a few steps. once you cross the road, it is at least 100 yards to the dunes and then another 50 yards to the water. For those wanting to bring easy ups or other canopies, orange beach only allows those in the designated area which is next to the dunes.

Our family stayed here for a beach wedding. Very nice and easy to get to the Gulf State Park Pavilion. It’s nice to be able to bring the dog with us. Only negative issue was the blinds on the two doors did not go up.

This house was perfect for my family of 3 and our 3 dogs. We had plenty of space with the downstairs living area and the upstairs with the bedrooms. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking. There are plenty of grocery stores near by from Walmart Super Center to Publix to their local grocery store Rouses. They provided shampoo, conditioner and soap for all bathrooms. And dishwashing pods and dish soap for the kitchen and dishwasher. As well as laundry detergent to use in the washer machine upstairs. Just great small details that add up. Plenty of towels and extra pillows and blankets if needed. The house is right across the street from the beach with it’s own access path to it’s own section of the beach. Super easy 5-10 minute walk. The location is perfect for being close to restaurants and shops in Orange Beach and not a far drive to the Gulf Shores area too! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again!

My family stayed in the home for a week. For the rental price, the property is inadequate. Home itself and neighborhood are very nice. Great location. Directly next to pool. Inside needs help. Finishings are lovely. Beds were comfortable. Nice, large washer and dryer. All living room furniture is stained, gross and need new slipcovers. My children refused to sit on them. Rug in living had stains and animal feces ground into it. We had to roll it up for duration of our stay. No dressers or shelves of any type in house. Had to stack our clothes on floor and put in bathroom drawers. Towels stained. No cable at all. Must log into your own streaming accounts for tvs to work. Kitchen has minimal utensils. Air conditioning was not working, and one unit for a two story house is not sufficient. Vacasa did respond very quickly once we reported the A/C and repairman came same day. Even once it was properly working again, we had to sleep with ceiling fans and additional fans we brought for baseball games. We have stayed in other homes in the area, and this one does not compare. Owner needs to correct above.

My family & I absolutely LOVED everything about this stay. It was also very clean. The only thing is that the doors are glass with no coverings. We had to find something to cover the doors, but other than that everything was great and we would definitely book again.

The house was so clean and beautiful. It was perfect amount of space for my family of theee and two dogs. Great location and had private beach access. Wish the community pool could have been heated but I don’t know if Vacasa has that ability. Will definitely rent this spot again.
