After almost 18 hours of traveling, there is nothing more frustrating than to show up and not be able to get in. Someone was supposed to meet us, but they weren't there. I called every number I had and got no answer. We were starting to suspect that it was a scam, but finally Gary called us back and we were able to get into the apartment...Almost an hour after we arrived... I have stayed at many many VRBOs, and never had so much trouble checking in. Gary attempted to blame us for him not being there, but when you withhold vital information until the last minute, that will continue to happen.
the apartment was fine, but the elevator was only big enough for 1 person. My wife is claustrophobic and had to walk 6 flights every time we went in or out. that would have been good to know.
When the details said air conditioning, I assumed it meant the whole apartment, not just two of the 3 bedrooms.

This apartment is a truly amazing property and the perfect home base for the Paris family vacation of your dreams. Great location, smooth check in, and every amenity you can think of -- plus Gary is the most gracious and welcoming host, and was eager to answer questions throughout our stay. And he gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations! Our family will be moving to Paris later this year, and this trip was our kids' first introduction to the city. But we had to keep telling them not to get used to the luxury of Gary's beautiful apartment -- the apartment we'll be living in later this year is definitely not this nice!!! :)

We really enjoyed our stay at Gary's apartment, which is well-appointed (the pictures don't do it justice) but also welcoming. Our family of two adults, and elderly mother and two teenage kids were very happy there. Gary was great at communicating and flexible (we were traveling to Paris from New York during Omicron and wavering about whether we would be able to go). The neighborhood, the upscale 16th, is quiet and fun to walk through. Everything you might need to make dinner in the well-stocked kitchen is close by. It is about a 1/2 hour lovely walk to the Trocadero/Eiffel Tower/Bateaux Mouches. Two Metro stops are a quick walk away. Area tips for your trip: Get a morning quiche, croissant or baguette Tradition at Le Petit Marquise in Place Victor Hugo; buy your groceries at the Casino market (skip the Monoprix); have oysters and Sancerre at Stella, a classic brasserie around the corner; or get a drink at the Library Bar in the luxury Hotel St. James, a short walk away (their spa services are also supposed to be great). As a family with an arthritic older person, we relied a lot on cabs. The local G7 app for calling city taxis worked very well. We had no problem getting a big car even during Christmas week. And lastly, if you're traveling during Covid and need a rapid antigen test, the staff at the pharmacie right up the block at 111 Rue Victor Hugo were wonderful.

Beautiful apartment in a very nice area with lots of nearby restaurants and close to many Paris attractions! Very attentive host as well!
