Izu Ito Hot Springs Toushinan Komeya

This was an incredible opportunity to experience genuine Japanese hospitality. The level of service from the staff and quality of the food were particularly impressive. Both dinner and breakfast were like the tasting menu in a very high end restaurant. Whilst the public baths might not appeal to everyone, the onsen in our room provided a more private alternative. We also had a massage in our room, which was excellent. The shuttle bus to and from Ito station were appreciated, plus we used the local station a few minutes walk from the hotel. All in all, it was an experience we will never forget!

For a western tourist the attentiveness of the staff and strict traditions can seem a little intense. However, if you are prepared to embrace the culture, you will have an amazing time!

Absolutely perfection! This was the most beautiful ryokan, and we only wish we had stayed longer. The food is incredible, and the onsen is a must-try. Most of all, the staff were so warm and hospitable - they made an extra effort to speak English with us, making us feel right at home.

スタッフの方々は、とてもいいです。 料理もいいですが、何せ古さは隠せません。 お水も１本だけありました。 ソファーもなく昔ながらの、テーブルです。 最近、畳に座るのが慣れていないので、ちょっと大変でした。
