Courtyard by Marriott Richmond Scott's Addition

I like the location (Very close to the VMFA building complex. I liked my room with the corner view. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about how to get to the VMFA building & places around the Hotel.

I wish there were more local places to eat around the hotel. it seemed kinda "Out there" in a neighborhood with out much in the way of local eateries. Also, the male Concierge was very friendly and helpful, I but couldn't see his name tag due to his, long locks over the name tag. I suggest he move it to the other side.

Clean. Comfortable bed.

Did not have hot water in the evening. It was hot in the morning.

They overcharged me by $100. I did not notice till I got home. Will be a major hassle to get money back. Check your receipt at check out. I did not.

The facility was relatively new, well cared for, and clean.

Parking was an extra ($15.53/day) which I consider somewhat bait and switch. The parking spaces, two-thirds of which were positioned right beside wide concrete building supports, were the narrowest I have ever seen. Wish I had my tape measure to compare with, say Costco. Rooms are "not cleaned daily." We only stayed two nights and cleaning and bedmaking was not really required but to not renew room coffee, as awful as it was, is unacceptable, particularly as coffee can only be purchased. Complementary coffee is not provided in the lobby. We did call and the room's coffee stipend was replaced. The bistro prices were high. A bowl of oatmeal was $9.50 so plus coffee, taxes, fees and tip would have been $16+. That was the least expensive item on the menu. In addition to typical occupancy sales tax and state occupancy taxes, an extra 2%/night is added for TID, Tourism Improvement District.
