It is a lovely house by the canal. The neighbourhood is pleasant and safe.

The house was clean, comfortable and convenient. The kitchen had everything we needed including a dishwasher and washing machine. The owner provided a change of linens as we were there for two weeks. There was even a small garden in back which was perfect for relaxing after a busy day.
We liked everything.

the apartment has high potential, but it requires urgent TLC, small investment and especially someone to teach and mentor the owner (whom is basically a nice woman) as to basic requirements if you seek to survive in the hospitality business.

location: quite neighborhood, not the best part of Oxford but ok, close to Train station
we arrived to a place so dirty that we wanted to get up and move out, but, you know, we paid a large sum for 27 days stay in advance. so we contacted the owner that self-manages the place and complained. she was polite but reserved and decided to first arrive herself, maybe she can sort out the complaint herself. evidently she didn't bother to visit her property prior to new guests arriving, otherwise she wouldn't let anyone check in when the house is in that state. few examples: dirty bath with soap and god knows what residues from last guest; dishwasher filthy with food and coffee leftover; black fungus / mold all around the refrigerator's door ; dust everywhere; oven and vent greasy-black in a way you wouldn't dare have in your house... etc. (we didn't upload the photos)
when the owner eventually had been convinced a professional cleaning is a must, it took her further 3 days to bring the cleaners, and even then she decided to spent money for 2 hours, so yes, the place was cleaner but even then we had to further clean.
the woman apologized, ok. she is a nice lady, but please, any experienced owner would accompany the apologies with a small gesture, even a chocolate cake, to paying guests that had to stay in a place not cleaned properly.
other issues with this place that can be fixed with a bit of attention and some spending (yes, hospitality business requires money spending):
1. no sockets in bathroom at all! (this is not country charm, tourists need to use electric toothbrush or hair fan in the bathroom)
2. furniture in the small saloon should be replaced, they are outdated, either dirty or broken.
3. cutlery, pots and frying pans: supplied but not new, not non stick pans.
4. stained carpet and curtains.
5. old, worn out towels, not pampering at all.
5. SUPER URGENT must replace mattress in the bedroom. it was old, broken in places, spring sunk, we didn't get a good night sleep. ok.
