Location, so peaceful, amenities - literally everything we could need, the ducks, the BBC, the fireplace, the privacy, the kindness of the staff. It was the perfect stay.
The 'swimmable' lakes were too dirty/muddy to swim, but it was quite cold now so it would have been hard anyways.

The setting is lovely especially if you have a dog and like fishing and nature!!! Well stocked cabin - milk, butter, juice, cooking oil, eggs, fresh rolls and croissants, Mark is a character, open enclosed fields for dogs, comfy bed, birds galore, ducks, bbq/firepit, great farm butchered meats, log burner, outside decking area....peace and quiet!!
The cabin was absolutely fine for me but it could be viewed as dated and rustic: dead insects in the bathroom and a bit scruffy around the edges. In saying that, I personally didn't mind, but I fear some might. If so, it's not for you! This is a place for fishing and/or nature, not luxury glamping or those who want the finer things. It's simplicity personified, which I love. I do feel it's a little overpriced as cabins could do with a bit of a revamp. All in all, I loved it.

It was indeed very peaceful. Lots of space between cabins. Nice touch to get warm croissants and rolls delivered to us on the first morning. Cabin rustic but very well equipped. Tench gets the morning sun and Sade in the afternoon. Ideal during this heatwave! Lovely swim in one of the lakes.
