Riad Dar Chacha

What a welcome and such lovely people. It really felt like coming home, perfect in a bustling city like Marrakech. Would recommend this riad to anyone that asks.

It is kind of hard to find, but that seems to be really normal for this ancient city with all its meandering streets.

From the moment my partner and I arrived at Riad Dar Chacha we felt welcome and at ease. The ambience in the riad was perfect, very relaxed whilst the building itself is gorgeous and decorated very tastefully. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room (Savannah) was immaculately clean and suited our needs perfectly. The bed was very comfy. The rooftop terrace is a fantastic place to enjoy breakfast or to relax away from the chaos of the Medina. It is a boutique hotel with only a few rooms, so you won't ever have to worry about being disturbed by large groups of other guests. The food was also delicious. Each morning of our stay began with a fabulous Moroccan breakfast including jams, spreads, pastries and eggs followed by mint tea. One evening, we decided to dine at the riad and I must say that it was exceptional. We had the chicken and lemon tagine and the beef and prune tagine. Both were excellent but the beef in particular was heavenly. Truthfully, The best meal that I ate throughout the trip to Marrakesh. It was capped off with a delicious fruit salad. The owner of the Riad, Pierre, is very knowledgeable and helpful. He was readily available via WhatsApp during our stay. Prior to our arrival, he had sent tips for tourists visiting the city and had arranged for a taxi to collect us from the airport. He is clearly very keen to look after his guests and to ensure that they have the best possible time during their stay. The riad is conveniently based on the south side of the Medina and not far from from the Kasbah district. It is only around a 10 minute walk to the Jemaa el-Fnaa, but the riad is still accessible for small vehicles. In summary, we absolutely loved Riad Dar Chacha. Part of me would like to keep it a secret all to ourselves, but that would be a huge disservice to Pierre and the wonderful staff. We would not hesitate to stay again and I hope that one day we will revisit the magical city of Marrakesh. Magnifique!
