RESI STAY Kyo Ryuvilux Nijo

Very spacious and loved the location. It was further away from some of our activities than we expected however we did hear that Kyoto has lots of walking.

The reception is far away from the hotel itself which was a challenge. You have to organize yourself to ensure you don’t forget any luggage or check in correctly.

Very clean, well organized room. Washer and dryer a real plus as was the small but efficient kitchen. The room was a great value. Good location with restaurants and transport nearby.

Having to find the fifth floor reservation office near Kyoto station in order to check in. There are no staff at the hotel itself. Despite that, it was a good place to stay in Kyoto. But this system is not for everyone.

Be aware of additional fees - price might look good but you'll have a cleaning fee + accommodation tax added(preferably in cash). Additionally, you'll be heavily lectured while picking up the keys in a totally different place from your hotel (20min away). You cannot use the balcony or even open it + every wrong move has heavy fees (luckily, we didn't get any). Additionally, we needed to reach out to booking.com to get a refund for one cleaning fee, as it didn't happen and we didn't get our money back until contacting booking.com support
