Have a pleasant time of our stay..
but we do like to have a cook breakfast,
Next time appreciate
Cleaning of surroundings.
5.0 / 10.0
It was clean enough, just, not great, for the very tired age of the rooms. The bed was ok. I could check in earlier than stated on the bookings website. It was fairly cheap, but not cheap enough for the standard of the room and lack of service
Breakfast in a bag was the awful, when it says breakfast the least I would expect would be to sit down in a dinning room with fresh coffee juices and breakfast, simply awful. At least it’s in a bag so you can put it straight into a bin. I’d rather pay a little less and not have breakfast, one of the reasons for booking was the fact it had breakfast; very dissatisfied
No shower facility, a very old bath with a shower head, but nowhere to hang it, so not useable, useless
The whole building is very run down and really showing its age, very sad really
Didn’t see any staff at all, on turning up there is a scabby bit of cardboard with a phone number scribbled on, should have taken that as a warning and turned around then! How hard would it be to put a proper sign up?

Unfortunately the remote didn't work, I'm thinking batteries and the room was exceedingly hot when we arrived, so turned the heater off for the remainder of our stay

Lots of character and close to the race track (15 mins) lovely bath tub in a quiet area.
I sat outside on the terrace of room 4 with a cup of tea, lovely!

Location for work is great and has a good outside space for the warmer months
Good value for the price
A bit run down / no cooked breakfast

Room was heated with electric heaters which worked well, although towel rail in bathroom was far too hot (burnt fingers on touching it!)
Mattress not very comfortable - springs quite prominent.
No cooked breakfast - bags of pot porridge, an orange, yoghurt and choc bar left outside door. On the plus side was provided with mini box cornflakes and cashew milk.
The room certainly needs updating ie plaster coming off the wall, sealant around the bath and sink needs replacing. Bed linen jaded and not very appealing.

Nothing
There was no-one present. The room was dark. There was no heating but just electric heaters so was either boiling hot or cold. There was no breakfast apart from a packed bag which we were not told about until I had paid. We left after 1 night and I am waiting for my refund. I have heard nothing from either Hopbine or booking.com.

No staff around, very dirty and smelt musty and damp. Cobwebs everywhere. No external lighting over car park area. Uncomfortable bed. Continental Breakfast was dreadful gave most of it back.

Hi
I have just arrived at hopbine house (Friday) and it’s derelict.
There are 2 phone numbers on the door to call and both are out of order.
This hotel is obviously not open as it’s full of rubbish and boxes everywhere.
I have taken photos to attach later.
We have travelled down from Manchester for our Christmas celebration at Hereford cathedral and now have no where to stay.
I have been trying to contact booking.com and can’t get through to them either.
I want a total refund and compensating.

It was close to job
I stayed here for two nights. Although the accommodation was generally fine, it does feel like it needs some care and attention. The room was very basic, and the cleanliness wasn’t up to the standard I expected. There were several areas that looked tired or poorly maintained, which let the stay down. With a bit more attention to detail and a deeper clean, it could be a much more comfortable experience

Quirky, but clean and comfortable. Great comms from owner
Very dark car park

The building was spacious and had huge potential to be amazing.
Cleanliness was a major issue. Mould in the bathroom , carpets had not been clean and alot of cobwebs. We understand it's an older building but this was excessive. Additional to this we had a hole in our bedroom wall which had not been fixed , filled with toilet paper.

It was filthy and full of homeless people smoking weed in the corridor. I felt unsafe and ended up moving to another hotel. I don’t think I’ve ever feared my life but I did this night. The smell was awful the dirt and cobwebs were awful. I think this hotel is being used as a homeless centre which they shouldn’t be mixing with the public. Toenails clipping in the bath and bladed marks.

Variety in breakfast, just what me and my friend needed. Visiting a friend in Hereford hospital so location ideal and good value for money, didn't see any staff though

We stayed here for just one night while visiting family in Hereford. We really enjoyed our stay — the communication from the host was excellent from start to finish, right up to our arrival in the allocated rooms. The breakfast was provided in a breakfast bag (see photo) rather than as a cooked meal, which suited us perfectly as we were on the go. We highly recommend this B&B.
None.

This is a great basic stay, with the family room having a double and 2 singles it was perfect for pre teens to share with mum and still have room to spread out. There was wifi, enough plugs, a great bathroom with fantasic hot shower and the breakfast is perfect, the did a fab Gluten and dairy free version too. The doors directly into the garden was lovely. Staff were very helpful over the phone and dealt with the minor issue of remote control missing batteries very quickly. Free parking a bonus!
The building is in need of updating. Both rooms were dusty in places and some areas smelt damp on arrival. The towels and bedding were clean but could do with replacing. The tea trays and some kettles need replacing. The front door/ reception which was unstaffed and served by phone could be more welcoming. Lots of small steps throughout the building.

We have just left our visit to the Hopbine. The place has huge potential, but currently is very poor. The price is low, but you still expect some standards.
We have just left our visit to the Hopbine and would like to say how disappointed we were.
-We arrived to a unkept overgrown car park, lots of debris, broken furniture
-The entrance doorway - tape over doorbell sign saying not working. Just looked shabby.
-Made the call to the stated phone number to arrange entry, response was angry and somewhat rude.
-Room - found someone else’s half drunk coke bottle by bedside cabinet.
-Stale water in kettle. No teaspoons or water glasses. Provision of tea bags etc enough for one night and not replenished for our second night
-Room was not cleaned whilst we were out, bed not made
-No hangers in wardrobe.
-No hairdryer even though advertised has having one.
-Sink cracked and plug didn’t work.
-Sink drain gurgling, suggesting a blockage.
-Mattress very uncomfortable and needs replacing. So thin you could easily feel the wooden supports
-Breakfast was ‘continental’ and delivered in a paper bag, a paper spoon?
-Pictures on website do not truly reflect current facilities.
It really is a shame as the place has so much potential but it is tired and needs updating.

Location, accessibility, friendly staff, nice size room,
Pre-packed breakfast was mot a good idea. Although the kids enjoyed finding them outside of the door, they didn't particularly want to eat the contents. With the exception of the chocolate bar, the kids refused to eat everything. Also, the porridge pots that were provided were lumpy and congealed.
We had to find breakfast elsewhere, a real inconvenience. It meant rushing to get everyone showered, dressed, and into the car to search for an open café. The whole experience was frustrating and disrupted the flow of our holiday.
If a cooked breakfast was available. Id have 100% gave a 5☆ review,

Dirty, kettle needed de scaling, towels I wouldn’t use on my dog, ill fitting carpets causing trip hazards, the lights in the room didn’t work, check in bizarre, didn’t see a soul during our stay. There’s a reason why it’s cheap. Booked two nights but one was enough for us to travel home early.

Very comfortable bed and towels all well laundered. Easy to access whatever time you arrive and staff very pleasant.
Bath and sink partly blocked. No room service at weekend

Location was ok, we walked into town - but that is 2 miles. Parking on site was good. Communication was good. Bed was comfy.
If you have arachnophobia or dust allergies - not advisable! Reception, corridors and bedroom/bathroom full of spiders. I was a nervous wreck, and ended up leaving at 4am as couldn't sleep due to sneezing from dust and feeling like spiders were crawling over me. Hadn't had a clean in a looooong time (proper clean) and then bathroom whereas was lovely - was not clean, and sealant around the bath covered in mould and dirty. Very musty smell in the room which you cannot get out of your nose - and a gap under the door where you can see people walking past. Keysafe is for all bedrooms are accessible to all - which is a little unnerving! Reception and all corridors full of spiders - i was a nervous wreck! Poor husband had to deal with me jumping around like a nervous cat! Sadly, you can see it was once a beautiful establishment, but really lacks tlc, cleanliness and care.

Great location for our destination. Spacious room with a lovely 4 poster.
When we turned the jacuzzi bath on (which the kids were excited by), the room was filled with a horrendous sulphur smell. We emptied it, closed the doors and aired the room. It may be worth turning them on every now and again to rinse the pipes.
