Fantastic flat in the city centre, with great hosts.

Great location in the city centre. Lovely large flat, with everything we needed.

Only slight downside was the early morning noise from upstairs, but wouldn’t stop us from booking again.

Extremely spacious and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. In an excellent location close to the castle and not too far from the town centre.

Minor issue but shower is a bit weak. Need to be careful about the car park opposite the property as it is camera controlled and very strict

Exceptional ground-floor apartment near central Colchester.

The location was excellent, with easy and swift access to the city centre and Colchester Castle. The apartment was bigger than we had expected and well laid out. It was all on the ground floor, with just one step up to the entrance. It was spotlessly clean, with everything you would need for a wonderful stay. The lovely owner, Martin, and his equally lovely daughter, Ronni, met us to show us in and answer questions. They couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. When they noticed that I have mobility problems, Martin straight away went and bought a safety handrail and put it up in the bathroom that same day, so that it was easier to get in and out of the bath/shower. Exceptional customer service, which was greatly appreciated. The apartment was warm and cosy, although the weather was hot during the day: but there was even a floor standing electric fan behind a chair in the bedroom, which we used. Little things like this made a lot of difference. Overall, the facilities were brilliant. In addition to being able to visit the city, there are a number of interesting places to go to nearby. We chose to visit the castle and the gardens behind it on one day, and then drove to Flatford Mill and Beth Chatto's Gardens on the other full day. A short step away from the apartment there are a variety of restaurants and other nice eating places. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Colchester. I doubt if any of the many hotels nearby could match it.

Those arriving by, and using a car, may like to know that there is no nearby free parking available, but there is a pay car park in the side street - literally just over the road from the apartment - and payment is by mobile 'phone. It's possible to stay and pay for up to 24 hours at a time. There is quite a steep ramp up to the car park, which may be an issue for elderly or infirm people - although they could be dropped off literally at the door of the apartment - and then the car could be parked.

Exceeded all our expectations!

Everything about the property was perfect. We stayed for 2 weeks and we had everything (and more) that we needed for a home away from home. We are from Colchester and were back to visit friends and family., so we knew that the location would be ideal. If anything the apartment was larger than the photos showed and the bed was massive and super comfy. Host close by, friendly, helpful and available but never intrusive. We loved our stay and would highly recommend.

Great location, facilities and cleanliness. Great value for the money

Everything about the property was first class. Only slight downside was the shower was noisy and was over the bath which is not conducive to anybody with health issues. Apart from these two slight issues everything else was excellent. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

GREAT LOCATION FOR LONG OR SHORT STAYS

Well-equipped, well-located, spacious, warm and comfortable accommodation, with welcoming and helpful host. Although the road outside was relatively busy during the day, it was very quiet at night. The property is on the ground floor of a fine old building that lies on the edge of the historic town centre, and is convenient for bus and rail stations, and the new arts centre.

The apartment was impeccably clean with tasteful and uncluttered décor. Check-in was clear and the treats in the fridge were very welcome! Communication with the host was very good and he was on hand in case of any issues. Highly recommended.

Excellently located and immaculate property, thoughtfully designed with the customer in mind

The personal touch - helpful things like milk and treats in fridge, fans available for hot weather, plenty of thoughtful detail. The property was also really clean and well-maintained.

Key didn't turn easily in lock so getting in and out of the property could take some time. Noise could sometimes be heard from flat above when people were moving around.

Wonderful property! Nice & welcoming host. A great base for a stay in Colchester.

The property was absolutely superb! Tastefully decorated, spacious & there was everything you could want/need during your stay. The main road is busy during the day but at night it quietens down & it’s fair to say the bed of dreams will aid getting you to sleep.

The only criticism I have and it’s not to do with the property itself & it maybe out of the owners control but whoever resides upstairs has rather “heavy” feet & appears to enjoy doing laps of their flat which can be rather noisy.

Spacious, comfortable, clean and extremely well equipped. The property is easy to find and very close to the town centre. Although it's on a main road the night-times were quiet.

It would have been more than perfect if the property had its own parking, but there's a car park opposite so I'm certainly not complaining!
