Nice, unusual
Interesting architecture and design, friendly staff, great breakfast
Had a room on ground level, like a box inside the atrium, with full height glass on one side of the room into a public space of the hotel, this was a bit unusual at first. Closing the curtain created privacy but took away any view. OK if you book the room just to go to sleep, maybe not ideal if you plan a longer stay

Smallest room ever, like a boat cabin.. bulb missing from light fitting and poor standards. Food 3 course meal very poor tasteless and very little and not value for money

Thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back for a visit
The hotel was so cool, the whole building was just cleverly thought out! Bar and restaurant were really good! Food and cocktails were amazing as I said I would go back.
Parking is in a public car park, although the hotel did let us park in their private car park for the night.

In all, not a lot - considering the price we paid
The hotel, an excellent conv ersion of an old dockyard workshop, is set amongst active building/construction sites. Hence endless dust blowing in the offshore wind. For an elderly couple, such as us, the hotel is too far to walk to and from town (and for anyone, a pretty desolate walk. The security safe in our room did not work as we arrived. Reception staff (somewhat reluctantly) checked it and told us it could not be replaced during our stay; they had no spares; and could not allocate us another room. We were, unaccountably, refused a table for dinner on our first evening. In any event we found the dinner menu was severely limited. A blessing in disguise.

Great place for a weekend away!
The whole construction and the lobby are exceptional. Flabbergasting! Very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Good idea to have a kitchenette and a coffee machine in the room.
It was not clear whether pets are allowed or in which rooms. The court lodge room is rather small; at checkout we learned that pets are only allowed in a 4 persons suite. Not clear why. It would be nice to add toiletteries in the bathroom and a bottle of water in the room. This would enhance the experience.
