Thinking about going to Vrouwenpolder next year instead

Location and befs

Standards have slipped, sea breeze used to be luxurious, now a coffee machine, one kind of tea (previously a good choice) which tasted like coffee. Had to ask for a waterkoker instead, took Some time to convince staff about our problem. No little gift bags with lotion, shampoo etc. Restaurant choice of food very poor at lunch and limited at dinner, not very nice. But breakfast excellent.

Breakfast included REAL orange juice. That was the best part for me. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful. Its refreshing and it makes the difference in your stay.

The establishment is very well located and very nicely decorated. We had a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately the soundproofing is not very good and we had to put up with both noise from upstairs and from the corridor.

The restaurant was below expectations as we were charged for thinfs we didn’t order, staff wasn’t friendly nor skilled in the restaurant both during dinner and breakfast.

Location, breakfast and restaurant. Staff at restaurant were extremely helpful and friendly ! Quality y of food at the restaurant was above expectation. It was delicious.

I asked at the reception if another room was possible because there was a lot of technical noise in our room. She came to inspect our room, and said it was "normal" (the noise would end at night she said), and didn't bother to check for a new room. She said all the rooms were noisy, so we don't check other rooms ! I thought that the "client was king" in a four star hotel, but here it was not the case. So we had to stay in our room, the noise didn't stop all night and had not an easy comfortable night due to the annoying noise, which kept me awake almost all night.

The Jules Restaurant was amazing. We had a lovely stay.

The games area was a bit dismal. Most of the games had missing pieces. I would suggest rather dont have them on display and get the childrens hopes up.

It is too expensive for what they offer.

We paid about 35 Euro per night extra in order to get a dune-side room. We expected really nice view. Actually, the view was disappointing because we were partly looking over the parking area and then a wall of green (the dune) in front of us. It was certainly not worth the extra money. The hotel needs some renovation. The swimming pool is small and not really inviting and it was available only before 12:00 and after 18:00; in the afternoon it was only for children. The sauna is a small infrared sauna.

My stay at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. We had reserved a large room for a weekend getaway, hoping for a relaxing and comfortable experience. However, upon check-in, the receptionist was well aware of the acoustic and noise problems but still assigned us a room with no soundproofing whatsoever (corridor behind the reception area). We could hear every single noise from the corridor, doors, neighboring rooms, noises from the room above, and even the engine every hour, which was extremely bothersome. Having a two-year-old baby with us made matters worse as they woke up throughout the night due to the constant disturbances. We expected a peaceful weekend, especially considering the high price of 250 Euros per night, but sadly, our expectations were not met. To get a more comfortable room (a new room), we had to complain. The only positive aspect was the breakfast and the breakfast staff, who were very attentive and friendly. However, it did not make up for the overall negative experience. Unfortunately, we were offered a meager 50 Euro discount as compensation for the first night. Given the inconveniences we faced, this compensation felt inadequate. I do not plan to return to this hotel and hope that my feedback will prompt improvements in the acoustic and noise insulation of the rooms to provide a better experience for future guests.

A great place for a stay near the beach.

Location 100m from beach is great. Very complete breakfast. Really comfortable bed. Parking (10 euro per dag) is perfect (you can go in and out during your stay). Good airconditioning.

Sauna is infrared and somewhat disappointing. No towels at Sauna and Pool. It is a pool without relax zone. Only good for a swim (15 meters length).

Pleasant, but....

It's a really cute place on outskirts of the town, so it's peaceful, quiet and not a lot of artificial light around during night (almost none). Room i stayed in was small, but actually comfy and the bed was really comfortable to get a good night's sleep. Staff is extremely nice and polite, so much so that young lady actually called just to check when I'm arriving.

Soundproofing is really bad. If someone doesn't use the handle and lets the door slam shut, you can feel it in your bones. Late night conversations are quite audible and in the morning when people wake up and start moving and rustling about, you won't sleep any longer - guaranteed. Toilet was a bit cramped to sit normally. Not designed for people with longer legs. The hotel is boasting "Green Key Gold certificate" that stands for environmentally friendly businesses, yet they change sheets and towels every day. There is no sign that you can put on your door to signal that you DON'T want your sheets/towels changed so i tried putting "do not disturb" sign. Unfortunately, lady came back during afternoon while I was out (and the sign was not on the door since i thought cleaning is long gone/finished) and changed the sheets and towels. Next day, I left the sign hanging all day and the lady actually left clean sheets/towels in a bag in front of the door. 🙈 I think this is where the hotel can actually improve and become "greener" because changing sheets/towels and washing them - is not 'green' at all.
