The room was spacious, there was a nice big bath and although the decor is a bit date it is nice
It was good value, and the Deira area feels more like 'real' dubai than the downtown, which I personally like.
There was a LOUD nightclub in the basement and on the terrace, difficult to sleep until 4am
The room was clean on the surface but very dirty if you scratched beneath the surface (eg opened drawers, looked under the bed etc)
It seemed there was lots of large groups of men staying at the hotel, perhaps on stag dos or group travel? Between the, the clubs and the massage parlours, it was a bit of a menacing atmosphere, not family friendly.
The bed was uncomfortable
