HITrental Zur Metzgern Apartments

The location is perfect. We used the train a lot to go to the mountains and Zurich, and the station is only about a 10-minute walk away. The apartment is on the 3rd floor with no elevator, so there are some stairs to climb. However, the stairs are new, stable, and wide enough for two people. We really appreciated having two sets of keys since we were a group of five. The couch is very comfortable—even a tall person could sleep well on it—and the beds are even better. We loved the spacious rooms, and there were plenty of chairs and a large table for breakfast. We also really liked the Nespresso machine and used it every day. The apartment is nice and renovated, and we especially liked the bathroom. The host provided plenty of fans, likely because the weather was very hot before our arrival. We didn't need them since we were out during the day and the evenings were cooler, but it was a thoughtful touch. There was a festival with music on the square, but once you closed the windows, no noise came inside. Either way, the music stopped at 9 PM and the streets were quiet after that. The host sent clear instructions on how to register guests and pay the city tax before our stay. Check-in instructions were also crystal clear, so we didn't need to ask any questions.

Located in old town. Short walk to train station. Kitchen allowed us to cook homemade food instead of dining out.

No lift and the apartment (F) is on the 4th floor. It definitely got us exercised during the stay. Would not recommend for elderly or very young children. While washer is provided, the detergent is not (but can be purchased at coop).

Location is in old town, so it is close to many places we wanted to go.

It has a lot of stairs getting to the building and up to the apartment. The kitchen and dining space is very small. Cooking would be difficult, so we didn’t bother.
