racist host told me to go back to my country if i didn’t like the apartment conditions… freezing cold, damp and mouldy… wifi broken and a giant hole in the living room ceiling from a leak (uninformed by host) the apartment is nothing as described or listed

Disappointed, damp and delayed

Located very close to the wall and within short walk to most areas you'd want to see.

Check in was delayed by 2 hours and I had to leave work for 30 mins to get the keys even though there is a key lock that could have been utilised. Heating went off on the second night and there was no hot water to shower or wash up. This was in Feb, so needed hearing especially when it was a damp flat. They had a water leak so the ceiling had had a hole cut out to fix (not their fault but unsightly). It also smelt damp which affected our breathing. Told to leave the keys inside so the door was left unlocked, I felt wrong to do this, but only following the owner's instructions, again there is a key lock but I don't know the code to have used this. Information was last minute, this was unnerving for me as I travelled in without knowing I could get into the accommodation.

Excellent location, great spot for sightseeing in Derry

The location was excellent, the apartment was tidy and warm, and thinking of the place as a three star hotel, certainly met that expectation.

There was a musty smell that wasn’t great and while it was a quiet neighbourhood, outside noise travelled inside very easily.

Bishop apartment is well located with a comfy bed and a roomy accommodation al the way around.

The location of the apartment was perfectly suited to visit the walled city and nearby areas. The apartment was roomy and clean. The bed was very comfortable.

We had trouble getting in as there was poor communication about check in protocol.

Unfortunately this accommodation did not meet our expectations. Firstly, upon arrival we were unsure where to go, we tried ringing the number provided however no answer. We had a look around the area, which did not feel safe. We spotted what looked like a resemblance of the photo advertised. The door was unlocked, no host available. Which we found quite strange. First impressions, the place smelt fosty and damp. The keys were left in the kitchen, which did not feel safe as anyone could have entered the property. The kitchen was very unclean with crumbs and stains on the work benches and sticky yellow residue in the cupboards. The bed sheets were damp and smelt. The place was cold. My friend has asthma, this would not have worked. Very disappointing as we had driven 1.5 hours to get here. We did not feel safe nor comfortable staying here, we had no option but to make another booking for the night. The cheapest hotel we could find was £330 for 2 nights. I booked this accommodation for my friends birthday (£160) in total I had to therefore pay almost £500 to stay in Derry. Would not recommend this place, sadly. We were also quite surprised that the host had not contacted us / followed up about our stay when realising that we left after being there for less that 30 minutes.

Pick this one! The perfect place for your derry stay.

This was the best property we could have picked for the time we were in Derry. Dee is an absolute gentleman. He collect us from the train station and brought us to the apartment. The place is located right next to bishops gate and is in the perfect location for people who want to tour the city and get to know the locals. We were up for Halloween and were able to get down to the guildhall square for everything with a short walk. It's far enough away from the pubs that there's not a lot of outside noise present when you're trying to sleep either which is a huge bonus. Would highly reccomend

Superb

We had a great stay at Bishop’s Gate Apartment. The nice apartment is located centrally, next to the wall, and only a few minutes walking distance to the city center. We really loved the well-equipped kitchen and the separate washing room with washing machine and dryer. We were able to do all the laundry that had piled up during our journey. Dee, the owner was very nice and supportive. We had a problem with our car and he just came by on short notice and helped us out. We really enjoyed our stay in Derry in this tidy and clean apartment with everything you need. It is well accessible by car and even comes with a private parking area for the surrounding houses. We always got a parking lot without any problems.

Quiet, relaxing, and homey apartment in a great location

We loved the apartment! It has laundary onsite, which we did not expect but greatly appreciated. It was also great having a kitchen. The host was excellent. He hslped us understand local history and politics and gave us lots of great suggestions of places to visit and helped us make the most of our time in Derry. Our conversations with him were some of the highlights of our visit. He even offered to drive us to the grocery store.

Great location in the heart of Derry

The location was fabulous ,free parking & was lovely and quiet . Sheets on bed lovely & clean & apartment was comfortable Roisin was great when phoned 30 mins before. Gave us information we needed..

Could have done with extra towel . One each is not really enough. There was a bad smell of damp when we arrived didn't seem so bad the next day with with windows open. I was a bit put off with signs in every room re rules they were really in your face. Im sure she has her reasons.
