An exemplary property with an exemplary host.

The property was excellent with well thought-out decor, complimentary toiletries and sweets as well as an inclusive breakfast in the cost. The host was very friendly and helpful and went an extra mile to ensure visitors were okay.

Room looks clean, but on the sofa cushions have some cat’s hair and the blanket smell of cigarette and that a bit disturbing me. Room is located on the third floor no elevator and steep stairs just keep that in mind. The room wall is pretty thin so you can here people talked outside .

Hard to find parking or the location, one of the owners was drunk when I checked in as he was mumbling, stumbling and confused about the keys, the sheets felt like they werent cleaned before my arrival, keep in mind that there are steep stairs to the room and its a shared bathroom/toilet

Disappointing stay - Nothing like the photos.

Location:Very convenient location, close to where I needed to be. Quiet neighbourhood. Breakfast: Simple but appreciated – selection of cold cuts, boiled eggs, bread, croissants, coffee, juice, and cereals. It would be nice to have some yogurt and a bit more variety of fresh fruit. In the room- selection of teas, coffee & nespresso machine.

Cleanliness: Unfortunately, cleanliness was not great. There was an ashtray on the terrace full of cigarette butts!! a shirt left inside the wardrobe, false eyelashes on the room table, and hair in the shower...It felt like they forgot to properly clean before guest arrival. Facilities and expectations: The photos do not accurately represent what is offered. It should be clearly stated that the bathroom is inside the room!! (not separate). The place is actually a converted office building. Found it quite expensive for what it is. The atmosphere felt a bit strange too. Recommendation to the host: Please consider removing the photos of the castle – they are misleading and create confusion about what the accommodation actually looks like

The owner kicked me out ?!!

I am writing this because the owner has great reviews clearly because he kicks out unhappy guests. My wife booked the room because it had a hot tub and it was a surprise for the end of my trip. But I was put in the wrong room, the main wall of the room was glass and the other side was the kitchen so I was concerned about the noise and also light at night. The owner came in and when I asked about the correct room got very defensive and said I hadn’t paid enough room for it. I explained I can stay but I am disappointed, at this point he started forcing me out. I don’t want to go into it any further but the just is he said he would refund me in cash so I can stay else where I said it’s late and I’d rather just stay but he said it’s his house and didn’t want me there so I had to leave. He then would not let me leave until I canceled the booking so I was unable to leave this review. I am sure he is a good host and the reviews on here are genuine, but I think he kicks people out when he thinks they will give him a bad review so don’t expect it to be amazing as the reviews paint this picture.

Price/quality OK

Overall it was a nice enough place, especially if you only need to sleep there for 1 night/travelling through. The room and (separate) bathroom were clean and tidy. The owner was friendly and helpful in the food department: he gave excellent tips about nearby restaurants (the Thai place on the corner is great) and he did his best to offer something for breakfast, although I could not eat most of the food that was included. But price/quality was pretty good.

Make sure to send a message to the B&B owner directly if you have requests/food intolerances for breakfast. Comments made when booking via the Booking.com website are not communicated to the owner, which resulted in an awkward situation. Also, the bread was not fresh. The TV channels are lousy; there are no "regular" channels, only a dozen 'satellite' channels, mostly without subtitles. Shared bathroom, which is not really clear when you book the room, or I would have chosen a different B&B. It would not have killed the owner to help a woman carry her luggage up the stairs... just saying ;-)

Strongly discouraged - to avoid - diverging from what is stated on the BOOKING website

We paid 396€ for the 2 nights with breakfast as following: We have reserved as BOOKING site described: ROOM 1 - No. 1 DOUBLE room (marriage room) of 12 square meters (MQ) ROOM 2- No. 1 DELUXE room of 22 square meters (MQ) What we reserved did not correspond to the rooms we had: The first room as the photos highlight was no larger than 7.5 MQ The second room as photos confirm was not larger than 16 MQ Some considerations: After checkin, we immediately called the person who welcomed us, telling him clearly that the DOUBLE (marriage room) room was clamorously small and did not respond to what was reserved and paid in advance and that even the DELUXE room was smaller than the room we had purchased (16 square meters compared to 22 square meters). For the first, he answered by phone that yes, actually that was a single room adapted to a double room (we found only 1 glass and 1 towel) and that if we wanted a double room (as we booked and paid in advance) We should have paid extra. Obviously we refused. On the second room did not say anything. By asking him for a precise and direct answer to all these considerations, the person (sending us an SMS with an indication that he would come at 23:00) showed up at 23:00 forcing us to stay awake waiting for him without providing any solution, if not to pay more money. The rooms had the electrical system in our opinion in poor condition (see photos). In general the structure does not seem to be kept in good condition. We had booked 2 nights and the rooms after the first night were not cleaned up. The attached photos give everyone the opportunity to get a precise and punctual idea. The breakfast for us was not satisfactory as it did not give the opportunity to choose. In the structure you could clearly smell cigarette despite the hotel was declared non-smoking. Everyone has their own idea by looking at the attached photos.

Comfortable, relaxed stay close to Brussels

Very good communication with the owner. Cosy, relaxed atmosphere. The bed was very comfortable. Some restaurants at very short walking distance.

Public free parking, but I had to park rather far from the property. The property is located along a rather small road, but there is an surprising amount of traffic.

Good place, will stay again

Good friendly host, very helpful and cooked me a good breakfast as per required. Room was clean, and general accessories were provided. Train station close by to enter brussels.

Toilet is part of the room, and is divided by a screen. Not a huge deal breaker for solo traveller, but i would not like it if i was with my wife.

very nice layout, clean and good support with making sure you are settled in and have what you need… Dinner is also excellent and Tanir is a Master Chef - making it an ideal venue for a private business dinner - an excellent alternative to any hotel
