I had a great time it was just lovely to have the freedom to enjoy…

The cabin is modern and I loved the space but still was able to feel cosy. The view is wonderful I enjoyed the peace and quiet to relax and unwind.

I would have liked the simplicity of a guest book unless I didn’t find it? You provided a link but with poor network I was unable to access WiFi and took longer to figure out settings on the modem appliances.

A Devon delight

The cabin is well equipped and situated in a beautiful and tranquil location, with stunning views of Dartmoor through the picture window. There are a multitude of places to visit within 30-40 minutes by car. Overall an excellent experience we would definitely book again.

To enhance the experience further, perhaps a chest of draws for clothes storage and a blind for the picture window, for the small part of the day when the sun shines directly in to the living room. However not enough to spoil the overall excellent experience. We loved it.

Relaxing and peaceful stay in a well equipped and comfortable self contained accommodation

Lovely, well equipped cabin with modern amenities in a lovely peaceful setting without feeling too isolated. Fantastic, uninterrupted views from the large picture window across Dart moor. Centrally located with easy access to Totnes and Dartmoor in one direction and , Paignton and Brixham in the other

Everything! Location was quiet and views are amazing. Cabin is equipped with everything you need. Shower is great and bed is comfy. Definitely a place where you can totally relax.

Tranquil setting away from the hustle and bustle of life .

The photos don’t do this place justice it was amazing, the cabin was well equipped for our needs. A nice comfortable bed and the bathroom had heated towel rails and a mirror & plenty of spare towels if you needed them, I loved the shower. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed for our five day break and milk,eggs,butter, tea & coffee and some bubbles 🥂 in the fridge. Thank you 😁 The lounge area was very comfortable and I chose mainly to sit near the big window when it wasn’t too hot from the sun, but the views from the window and the outside seating area was much better than what I was expecting. It was also nice to be able to stroll around near our cabin and watch the pheasant and other birds , so peaceful no traffic just what I needed I came away totally chilled out . You are not too far from visiting most places in this area and we hope to be coming back in the future as we didn’t get to see all we wanted too.

Lovely, modern, comfortable, well appointed cottage overlooking bucolic Devon countryside.

Situated on a slight bluff, we looked out over green farmland through the huge side window of the cottage making even cold wet weather a joy to behold. Perfect size for a couple, extremely comfy bed, with a lovely and attentive host. We arrived finding coffee, milk, eggs, butter and other goodies pre stocked in the kitchen. Highly recommended this stay. We'll definitely be back.

Our washing machine had a malfunction during our visit, but the host collected and did our laundry right away. Also, take care to read the directions to get to the cottage as google or other satnav may lead you astray.

Peaceful break surrounded by nature in gorgeous Devon countryside.

We were looking for some peace and quiet as we live in a small but busy city . (4 nights only ) We were not disappointed as we were located in a tranquil spot overlooking beautiful Devon countryside .just birdsong for background music . We found it easy to get places like pretty Dartmouth (30) and Totnes (15mins by car). We we were also impressed by the attention to detail in the accomodation which was well equipped and beautifully presented with a large window one end so you can take in the views .lovely sunset skies . Elizabeth ,our host, had stocked some milk butter and eggs for us which were unexpected and also a bottle of fizz as a welcome touch . The accomodation is situated at the far end of a very large wooded garden area and a little festival trolley is parked waiting for you to put your bags etc in .a short grassy walk through some trees and you are there !very secluded and lovely . We felt enveloped by nature which was peaceful but not isolated as not far from Totnes if needed . A tranquil place to relax and reset .

As a previous review mentioned ,maybe a blind on the lovely large window as the evening sun was quite hot while we were there but that is really the only VERY small problem in what was a fab stay .😊

Cabin Location was perfect, in your own secluded space, peaceful, with birds and a pheasant. The large picture window overlooking the beautiful Devon countryside and not being overlooked. Luxury facilities in kitchen and bathroom, comfort, provisions for cabin very thoughtful and generous. Thank you Elizabeth!

The picture window for the great views, had a downside as when the sun comes through, the glare on the TV makes it unwatchable. We thought that an outside retractable canopy would be a great addition, or blinds? There were no instructions for the oven microvave grill that we recall but it was suberb to use, or any for the heating thermostats as they needed re-programming - correct dates, times and temperature settings etc. We didn't know if it was on or not and if any changes we made had any difference. We did our best, so apologies that it may now need to be re-programmed. Last thing for me was the dipping mattress, but its a personal choice. The luggage trolley is a good idea from parking to cabin, but unfortunately broken at the time and difficult to pull over grass. A little golf buggy would have been fun 😁

Elizabeth and Peter were exceptional hosts and The Cabin was truly beautiful and luxurious. We were provided with excellent directions to The Cottage and the entry was effortless. The location was beautiful, quiet and secluded with the most magnificent views. Upon opening the front door you realised that this was no ordinary holiday accommodation. Care and thought had gone into every aspect of The Cottage, from the decor, to the quality of the linen and towels, the well stocked pantry filled with quality items to the toiletries. The microwave/oven allowed us to eat in and the appliances in the kitchen were excellent. Afternoon tea was sumptuous and a bottle of wine from our home state of Tasmania was a wonderful kind and thoughtful surprise. If I lived in the UK I would certainly be coming back on a regular basis, it is a perfect location to explore Devon and The Cabin is truly exceptional with hosts who understand how to spoil their guests!

Outstanding

The view was absolutely breathtaking. Pictures don’t do justice how beautiful it is to sit on the couch, cuddled up under a blanket, watching the sunset or in our case the rain. The apartment is gorgeous. Every single detail about it. Elizabeth was super generous. In the fridge we found wine, eggs, milk (two kind) butter which was super thoughtful. This is a perfect getaway for couples.

It was heavily raining and we got soaking wet one night on our way home. We couldn’t dry our cloth’s unfortunately. The heating is nicely hidden which is great, but sadly it wasn’t the most practical in this situation. But it really did not change how amazed we were by this cabin.

The only thing we would recommend to others is the access is a little bumpy at present no low sports cars this is soon to be rectified.

The Cabin at Barnstormers was perfect, so tranquil. Everything you needed in the Cabin. Such a relaxing & homely stay. Stunning views out, beautiful sunsets. very very minor detail. we struggled with the oven as it is a modern digital version which took quite a while for us to bend our simple minds around, but we got there in the end after working it out.

didn’t like the ants (noticed another guest had also mentioned the ants. didn’t see this until we had came back home. place was not clean. we booked this place on the exceptional reviews it had. very disappointed. I like a place to be spotless and this was not the case. had to clean a cupboard and wash cups and glasses before using, even after that we didn’t use the glasses. Peter the owner couldn’t accept that he’s cabin didn’t meet our standards. we left after one night booked for three. we didn’t want a refund that is not what we were looking for. he offered a refund then refused it just wanted to let him know we wasn’t happy. he actually thought we had drank the cheap cava he had left as he made a comment about it we don’t drink cava !!!take your own milk as the milk he left us was out of date by one day but I don’t drink milk out of date one day or not. also take your own toiletries we always do luckily as you will be using left over toiletries. be prepared to live out of a suitcase as no wardrobes or chest of drawers are provided.

A few ants running around and a woodlouse found it’s way into the cabin we are unsure of where they entered but was only a small problem we encountered

Absolutely superb cabin. So we'll thought out, modern and romantic. Me and partner thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Little added extras were superb, from the champagne on arrival and extra supplies in the kitchen. View from the back window absolutely breathing taking. Will be definitely coming back to stay again.

Fabulous place, fabulous hosts and fantastic views

A lovely place to relax and unwind. Everything in the cabin was quality, and the food and drink provided was much appreciated. The hosts were kind and considerate. They even left a trolley in the car park so you could wheel your luggage to the cabin. We just loved this place

We did miss not having a chest of drawers to put clothes in, but there were hangers for other items. The thing we didn't like was having to leave at the end of our stay. Wish I'd booked for longer.

The idyllic location, the privacy, the wonderful view and all the modern, state-of-the-art fixtures and appliances make this the perfect romantic retreat.

Minor adjustments/suggestions: • The sat-nav for this location will take you down a farmer's trail. Use/print out the owner's directions before departing. • A hand grip on the wall in the shower and a shower mat would be good to prevent slipping. • A mosquito screen/net on one or two of the windows would allow opening windows minus unwanted visitors.
