BO-BOU Suite

This was our second stay. Was great. Love that it’s central to everything and you don’t need a car. Stayed 10 days and rented a car for five of them because we had to move our youngest into her dorm at UCLA, but parking was a breeze. We parked right on Cosmo most times. The furthest being Selma at the corner. The only days we had an issue was Saturday night into Sunday morning because on Sundays from 6 AM until 3 PM they have a farmer’s market, however we still were able to find a good spot on the next street over both days. NOTE ABOUT WEEKEND PARKING: I’m quietly confident that the parking lot nextdoor to the apartment is illegally blocking off and creating valet parking out of the metered spaces on the weekend. They put up cones and cover up meters with signage to prevent people from parking on that street and the next street over. With that, I do not think that those paid meters are being enforced or monitored by whoever owns them, and these people know that. We ran out of time multiple days for multiple hours and never got a citation. We were also told by people who live in the area at the meters aren’t monitored. Win-win I say. Until the weekend, that is.

Intermittent security. They came a couple of nights but most nights weren’t there. That was my first time seeing them at all, this stay. Nobody at all back in July. Also, the shady parking dudes that cover the meters with VALET signed and cones to make you pay on the weekends.

Location, location, LOCATION: Perfect. Hollywood Walk of Fame is a block away. Walkable to everything you’d need: CVS, Trader Joe’s, Burlington, Chinese Theater, Roscoe’s and all other major takeout restaurants. Five minute walk to the subway and buses. For the purpose of our stay, #2 bus took us straight to UCLA. Nice and scenic ride of about 35-40 min. The apartment is exactly as pictured, and has a nice vibe— as a native NYCer I can appreciate an urban lofty experience. Felt like home. Nice surprise of it having balcony doors. Huge place for a studio. Nice layout. Rooftop is nice — especially at sunset. Washer and dryer worked fine. Street Parking was easy as well, but we didn’t stay on weekend days so not sure how it all goes then. We got a spot right on the corner — the same spot twice! Street parking is e-metered at about $1.80 every two hours, but free from 8pm-8am. You can use their website to add money as you go. Host was super responsive and accommodating. Looking forward to our next two upcoming stays here.

Whomever lives upstairs is pretty noisy at night, but couldn’t tell if it’s just because of the way the apartments are built and sound proofed, or if it really WAS the neighbor. Sometimes sounded like they were in the apartment with us. But didn’t last long enough to cause any sleep disturbances. Just odd is all. Didn’t experience any abnormal street noise because we stayed Monday PM-Friday AM. Just the usual fire truck type stuff typical of cities at night.

Perfect location. Easy to access.

Location is hard to beat.

Full kitchen had limited dinner ware (for instance: one mug, no cups) some of which was broken or chipped. The plate in the microwave was broken. You could not open the windows. Confusing signage for navigating the facilities. (Where is the roof deck? Where is the garbage facilities? ) No hand towels or washcloths.
