Signature House - Contemporary Studios in Coventry City Centre, free parking, by COVSTAYS

It was a nice clean tidy room with a lot of things like dishes, iron, fresh towels, and everyday utensils.

It’s price was a little high but overall the property was pretty good.

The property itself is fine. The studio is well furnished, the bathroom is new and spotless, and the kitchenette is equipped with some essential items (two forks, two knives, a pan, etc.). Guests are asked to leave the place clean, as a £100 deposit is required and part of it may be retained if the property is left dirty or damaged. However, no cleaning products are provided apart from washing-up liquid, which makes this requirement difficult to meet, so I had to stop at a supermarket to buy a multi-surface cleaning product. Check-in is organised by phone: on arrival, you have to call someone who provides a code to open the key box, where you collect the key and the fob to access the main door. This system works, but it is not ideal if you need to speak to someone in person, as there is no reception. The location is not one of the best areas in Coventry.

THERE IS NO PRIVATE PARKING. Despite what is stated in the description, the property has only a very limited number of parking spaces (around five or six), which are always occupied by building residents. As a result, you either have to pay for parking in the large, empty parking area belonging to the nearby pub (which is quite expensive) or try to find a spot on nearby streets, hoping one is available. What I really dislike is that guests are informed about the parking situation only after the booking is confirmed, and just 48 hours before arrival, when cancellation is no longer possible.

I had a pleasant stay in this studio. It was spotlessly clean, bright, and very well equipped, with everything I needed - from kitchen utensils to a comfortable bed and good Wi-Fi. Everything worked perfectly, and it’s clear that the place is well maintained and cared for. The kitchen is particularly well equipped, with a microwave, hob, oven, fridge, toaster, and kettle, which was really convenient. It’s also evident that the room is not brand new - there are a few marks on the walls and some scratches on the furniture - but for a short stay it’s absolutely fine. Since guests are asked to leave the place clean and tidy, it would have been useful to find some cleaning products in addition to the washing-up liquid. The residence itself is quiet and feels safe, ideal for a short or medium stay, and I really appreciated the fact that there is a lift, which makes things easier when arriving with luggage.

The description says “free parking.” Indeed, the parking is free, but it doesn’t mention that there are only five or six spots, and they are always full (ALWAYS). The rest of the parking area is private and cannot be used. You can park on the street, but it’s quite stressful to arrive late in the evening and have to look for a parking space in the neighbourhood without knowing the area. The area isn’t the most picturesque, with some industrial buildings nearby, but overall it felt ok. As it’s part of a residential complex rather than a private rental, there’s a £100 deposit, which I always find a bit uncomfortable - you never know if something small might be counted against you at checkout, even when you’ve taken good care of the place.

Clean. The guy answered the phone very quickly and was engaged and helpful.

Beware. When you see "free on-site parking" this means that there is *some* parking on-site but not necessarily enough parking. This place had six parking slots for maybe 50 rooms, so the chance of actually being able to park at the place is pretty low. Booking.com need to fix this. It looked like this place had plenty of on-site parking. It was a good job we had our wits about us (or at least my wife did) because the parking belonged to the pub next door and there were dire warnings of fines for use by non-patrons. I'm sure many have been caught out by this. We ended up parking half on the pavement quite a distance away. Not ideal. I booked a couple of days beforehand and was told £100 deposit, ok no problem, I assumed this would be taken from card. When I called to get instructions and ask where my parking slot was (I didn't have one) I was told "you haven't done xyz, I can't talk to you until you've done that". I don't look at my emails every five minutes, especially when I'm stressed and late and driving, so I looked at my emails and there was an email sent 30 mins before checking in time that I had to action - why not get this done immediately on booking ? He also kept saying "we sent all the instructions (where to get keys etc)", well, if you did, I didn't get them. The air-conditioning was very noisy indeed. Rooting around in the booklet we found we could switch it off, but that, for some bizarre reason, disables the bathroom light. Take a torch in case you need a night time pee and don't want to wake your other half. The temperature was set to 23c, OK for some, way to high for us, and the window only opens a crack. TIP: there is a safety catch above and below the window retainer, pull them apart and you can open the window all the way to get some air in. Do this, and set the thermostat, before you go out for the evening and it might be comfortable when you get back.

Really good little 1 bed with a cooker, which was great, most 1 beds only have microwave and stove top. Parking added bonus too.

The apt was very clean and appropriate for our stay. The beds were comfortable.

The parking is totally insufficient for the size of the place. Buy a drink in the pub next door free 24 hour parking. Security we returned from a shopping trip to find two men in our room. Apparently, an employee is showing a potential renter around. All our belongings were in the room as we had one more nights stay booked. The employee asked us to wait outside whilst they finished the viewing! It was clearly visible that the room was occupied. When speaking to a rep from the company, although he apologised i did not feel reassured, with little empathy or grasp of the seriousness of what has occurred., we got into a arguement about the rights of entry, claiming we weren't tenants and therefore not similar rights. Wrong.......I have had no follow-up communication with the company regarding this. Massive breach of privacy minimal concern from the company

Have stayed here numerous times, but this particular occasion is was noisier than normal

Says it has parking but there are only 4 spaces and they are always full. Had to park on the street opposite (which is only a 2 minute walk).
