Absolutely gorgeous property and amazing room! I was taken back by the beauty of the Alexander Guest House. Very large, fully equipped apt, beautifully furnished (antiques, high end touches, nice built in desk/workspace, dining table, overstuffed leather sofa/chair w/ottoman, artwork, bedding) with a private terrace overlooking magical gardens.

This is a beautiful old property. The room was very large but oddly shaped so much of it was unusable. Unfortunately, we were there during a torrential rain storm, so we could not use any of the outdoor spaces.
If you are staying in the Writer's Room, it is on the 3rd floor. The stairs are incredibly steep and it was very hard to bring out luggage up to the room. The clawfoot tub is cute but very impractical for showering - no place to put your soap or shampoo and awkward to get in & out. The breakfast was an offering of cold cereal, donuts, and muffins - not my vision of a Bed & Breakfast.
