Excellent location, has potential to be bette

The property is in an excellent location, so easy to walk to the harbour, beach and local shops, restaurants and bars. It also has all facilities you’d expect from a holiday home.

There is a warning, however the stairs are not good if you’re tall. I’m relatively short but still banged my head. There was also an unpleasant damp smell on arrival. It didn’t really disappear whilst we stayed even with windows open. The furniture is too big for the space making moving around difficult. And the beds were way too soft for all of us. We all came away with aches.

Perfect Location for trips and village. Parking outside. Good kitchen facilities. Good tv and comfy sofa. Beds fine. Good info for things to do. Quiet location.

Challenging staircase. Tight for space everywhere- no wardrobes just small open rails. Not all people sitting on sofas could see tv screen. In general it’s lovely, fine for 2 people - wouldn’t like to try 5. 4 was ok but did keep bumping into each other and only 1 toilet/bathroom

Love Porthleven and the weather was amazing

Location was amazing to our favourite Porthleven. Comfortable lounge . Well stocked kitchen Clean

2 toilet rolls for 4 people , watered down cheap washing up liquid . Someone was messing with the key safe every time we were out . The beds were cheap mattresses and small . The staircase was beyond a death trap and if someone was to slip then it would cause a injury . Cottages we normally stay with have fantastic welcome packs not just a small bottle of milk and a packet of biscuits . We love Porthleven and come down 5 times a year but will not use your company again . Sorry for the moan but it was poor . Can you also ask the owners if someone is popping into the cottage daily to check because it would have been nice to know in case our elderly parents were on their own and the door opened with a stranger . ?

A fantastic stay in gorgeous Scallop Cottage

The cottage was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It was a lovely space to relax in with lots of classy finishing touches. The kitchen was well equipped and the oven was great. it was a really short walk to the harbour and restaurants in Porthleven.

It’s just personal preference but we prefer a firmer mattress.

Damp and smelly

The host lists the property as newly renovated on its website but failed to address a damp propblem. The smell of damp is overwhelming on entering and ever present thereafter. After a stay of 4 nights, even items stored upstairs away from the damp took on the smell. The host suggested this is inherent to the type of property and will not acknowledge that the property is unfit for letting in its current condition despite acknowledging that the damp areas were repainted prior to my stay. I will be pursuing this issue with Booking.com.
