Monte Abaixo

We loved everything. The place is amazing, clean, comfortable, functional and well organised. It's full of history and heritage, beautifully decorated, with wonderful surroundings and landscape. Lots of places with shade where you can relax with a cold drink and read a book. Barbeques are a great way to cook and you can find excellent products in Almodovar, the closest village. The swimming pool is the cherry on top, especially facing the amazing view and the sunset. The hosts were extra nice and super welcoming. Ms Afonsinha and Mr Jose are incredible hosts and will do everything to make sure you feel like home. They have a special place in our heart. We spent a week, but we would gladly extend it to two or three weeks, if we could. We will definitely return next year.

There is nothing to dislike. You must make sure to get everything you need because the closest village with supermarkets and supplies is 30 minutes and 30 Km away. Monte Abaixo is perfect to relax, but if you forget something important, be ready to spend 1 hour and 15 minutes. The value for money is a general remark, because everything just became more expensive everywhere.

Piscina muitíssimo agradável, especialmente por volta do por do sol, com incrível vista de serra. Monte muito tranquilo, com espaços verdes cuidados. Hospitalidade e gentileza dos anfitriões. Ideal para tempo de qualidade em família, para desligar do stress e da correria.

A very beautiful and authentic place, and no words can describe the great hospitality of the hosts. We left with the hope to return back the next time we come back to Portugal
