Sanrinsha

Had a great stay! Lovely house in the woods with nice cozy rooms and a nice onsen that you can use. The owners son has a nice café and makes the best matcha’s and green tea. Highly recommended!

Nothing!

The stay at Sanrinsha was wonderful. The owner and his son are so friendly and always there to help or give advice about what to do in the surrounding area. Also you can get fresh coffee in the morning for free. The guesthouse feels like a cosy mountain hut with many interesting trinkets inside. I saw a lot of clowns and most of them were not scary except the one on the veranda ;). Try to find them all! The rooms all have logbooks where guests keep their notes and it goes back to 1985 when the guesthouse was born. All in all it makes the guesthouse feel like some kind of museum where you can discover new stuff every day. The bathroom is magical... I would really recommend this place. If I'd ever come back to Kyushu I would like to go there again. I hope the owner will still be there, but he said he is almost 80 years old (!).

Mosquitos but that was our own fault... The fact that we only stayed for 2 nights, for I would have liked to stay longer

Sanrinsha is a lovely cottage surrounded by nature, very serene and relaxing, yet everyone is so friendly. The vibe feels like the cottage was in a Studio Ghibli movie. The manager is so lovely, he was a wealth of information, not just for Takamori but travel tips for the rest of Fukuoka. Would road trip would have been so much better if we had met him earlier! He is a true gentleman and we loved staying here.

The decorations and atmosphere of the furniture on the ground floor was nice, and so was the bathroom.

The room is a bit small, you can't open many suitcases, the toilet is also very narrow.
