Messy dirty and lived in with host

Unable to comment due to being let down by the host.

When booking this stay I contacted the host and confirmed my arrival time which was around midnight. He replied that late check in isn’t an issue as this is something that he does as well as late check out if needed. He messaged me during my flight and asked to message him when we are on our way so i messaged him at 11:17 to say we are 15 mins away. No reply. We arrived at the boat at 11:38 so i messaged him again to say that we were there but no reply. I have tried to phone numerous times but no answer. At midnight we accepted that we are left with no accommodation and have no option but to knock on doors of hotels nearby. Luckily the first nearest one had room available but on very high cost of over £500 ( nearly 600 euros). We had no option but to take it as we were after long flight tired and with no drink. Alain did not message back until 4 am to say that he is sorry but he felt asleep and his phone “ did not work”! I explained that I understood it happened but he has to understand that he left us in very vulnerable position in the middle of the night and we had no option but to find emergency accommodation at very high cost and i asked him to cover the cost of one night. When I sent over the invoice for new accommodation he became very rude and accused us of taking advantage of the situation booking expensive hotel when he knows there are cheap hotels around the area. I tried to explain that perhaps there were but because he let us down we were unable to keep walking around the area in the middle of the night so we had to take what was available. He kept repeating that We try to take advantage and refused to refund us. He just commented “ Let booking deal with it” It is so disgraceful to offer no support whatsoever and accuse the guest of taking advantage of such stressful situation when clearly the issues was created by the host.

Beautiful location on a boathouse in the harbor. Ernesto, the host, provided outstanding advice for activities and attractions, and a recommedation that I rent a car before arriving for access to many of the more interesting attractions in the area. And he dropped off chocolate croissants for breakfast. I was treated like royalty during my entire stay. Highly recommended!

The Boathouse is ideally situated in the port of Benalmadena, a few minutes walk to bars and restaurants, it’s a beautiful yacht, the bed was extremely comfortable and the facilities were perfect for me. Alain was an excellent host and gave me great information about the area, I wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again.

This was an amazing experience. Alain the host has a lovely home & welcomes you on board encouraging you to use all the facilities & make yourself at home. He left us to it a lot of the time so it felt like we had our own yaucht for the night, room had everything you needed & its wonderful to sunbathe up front or sit up on top with a glass of wine watching the sunset. Definitely Recommend thanks for an unforgettable stay 🩷
