Only criticism would be that the sofas didn’t really lend themselves to be comfortable for more than 2 people and given that the house sleeps 6 it could do with a different grouping of more sofas

Lovely property in a lovely location

Beautiful furniture and nice Christmas touches. Bedrooms very comfortable.

The heater that heats the building has to be filled with pellets and you need to ensure they don’t run out. I was waking in the night worrying about it running out. It would have been nice to have milk, tea coffee as a start luckily we took some. They do have spices and salt and pepper however. It was also difficult to identify the building and needs better signage as whatsmyword didn’t work for us.

Very well appointed. Everything you could want was provided eg bubble bath, cleaning products, plenty of cutlery and crockery. Exceptionally clean. Nice touch with Christmas decorations.

The only gripe is we found the second sofa slightly uncomfortable but this is a personal preference.

There was nothing this property lacked, everything you need under 1 roof.

Fantastic

We stayed at the Old Brewery Barn from 9/9/25 to 12/9/25 following our wedding on 6/9/25. We wanted somewhere tranquil and peaceful following some very hectic months. We couldn't have asked for more than what the barn offered. Spacious bedrooms, walk-in showers and a bathtub. The living/kitchen and dining area lends perfectly to cosy evenings. Everything was exceptionally clean and well presented, and to top it all off there was also a hot-tub to use - perfect for stress relief. Our hosts were fantastic, there if we needed anything, but they allowed us the space to enjoy the barn and it's amenities. I highly recommend this as a getaway location, in fact I have already recommended it to family and friends. My only wish would be to award more than five stars. Thank you for a perfect break.

Lovely house in quiet spot with easy access to tourist spots

Such a lovely property, really well equipped to make it feel like home from home- some lovely little touches for convenience. Hot tub was great and lovely well kept garden. The local pub that does an excellent Sunday roast! On walking & bus routes to Pooley Bridge to access Ullswater and can also easily get to the amenities of Penrith. We loved our stay and would highly recommend!

Nicest place I’ve ever stayed! Must stay here if visiting the Lake District and it’s ever available

Great central location with one bar/restaurant within easy walking distance. The hot tub was a great addition and meant the holiday ended up being very social as it was a great place to spend time where you aren’t able to be on your phone. There are a lot of rules for the hot tub which is a big green flag as someone who’s family owns a hot tub, it meant you knew it’s kept clean and they care about the maintenance of it. The view of the garden was amazing, the owners are clearly very into gardening. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen/living room was roomy and easy to socialise and eat together. The bathrooms were roomy and the showers were great.

The only tiny thing we missed was more areas to hang wet swimmers and towels as we were in and out of the hot tub a fair bit but that’s a tiny tiny thing! We also may have missed an area to hang things as we didn’t even discover the towels until the last full day so it’s possible we just didn’t see it.

A really lovely stay and would stay again

This property has clearly been done to a high standard, we didn’t want for anything (maybe apart from ketchup in the condiments cupboard!) more than enough towels per person, decent showers, comfy beds, really BIG beds, more than enough parking. It was a lovely property.

Didn’t like that I had to empty the bins myself and strip the beds. Didn’t like the fly zapper in the kitchen (which we did turn off) but then there was a lot of flies in because of summer and the patio doors. It would be better if the hot tub was more private, it literally is overlooked by the neighbours windows. It was quite expensive for 3 days and a 10am check out is ok, but 11am would be better

The house is absolutely beautiful, looks newly renovated, very modern. Garden is lovely. Kitchen has all the amenities. Lots of nice walks within a short drive. Had a fab Sunday lunch at the pub across the road.

Perfect,Fantastic, just what we needed

Wow!! This place is absolutely stunning and immaculate. It has everything you need from cooking facilities washing facilities toiletries board games etc. cannot fault this place one bit. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t great so we didn’t get use of the hot tub. Hopefully be back again and get to use it. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Amazing stay

Gorgeous modern interior, lovely and clean, wonderfully comfortable beds and well appointed kitchen. Owner is super helpful, both before we arrived and during our stay. It’s great to have a utility room for walking boots and coats. Fantastic stay, will definitely be back.

The accommodation is a very British home away from home and the hosts have spent a great deal of time and attention providing a stylish, clean and very inviting retreat on the north-eastern edge of the Lakes District. Ian and Elizete were amazing hosts, on hand if you needed anything, but allowed us space and privacy to enjoy our stay.

Brilliant spacious barn in a wonderful location.

Brilliant comfortable open plan lounge. Spacious bedrooms. Luxurious bathrooms (two of the three are ensuite). Lovely garden. The whole barn was spotless and had everything we needed. We didn't have much need of our hosts but the advanced communication was brilliant and they were very welcoming.
