Hotel The Villa - Long Island City

Everything was great! The room looked exactly like the listing, and it was very clean and well organized. All the towels and bedding were spotless and neatly arranged as well. I had an issue during check-in, but the receptionist was very polite, helpful, and friendly, and we were able to resolve it quickly. My stay was smooth and hassle-free. The only thing I would advise (and this has nothing to do with the hotel itself) is to be careful if you’re walking around at night, since it’s located in a somewhat rough area of Queens. Other than that, everything was excellent! I highly recommend it.

The bedsheets had visible urine stains, which is completely unacceptable for any accommodation. To make matters worse, the mattress was still wrapped in its original factory plastic cover. When I asked the receptionist for a room without the plastic-wrapped mattress, I was told that all rooms have mattresses covered this way and that it could not be removed. I travel extensively across South America, Asia, and Africa, and I have never encountered a hotel that expects guests to sleep on a mattress still sealed in factory plastic. It created constant noise every time I moved and made the bed noticeably uncomfortable throughout the night. The bathroom also reflected poor maintenance standards. The water tap was not properly fixed to the washbasin and moved freely whenever I tried to use it, adding to the overall sense of neglect. The only positive aspect of my stay was the receptionist, Ashraf, who genuinely tried to help. Unfortunately, even he was limited by the hotel’s policies—particularly the requirement to keep the factory plastic on all mattresses—leaving him unable to resolve the issues.
