Beautiful views, cute and cosy cottage surrounded by nature - 20 mins to town, what a treat!

The cottage is tucked away behind a working farm & has amazing views across the valley.

The views are simply stunning. Gorgeous garden. Tranquil and very private. We loved watching birds in the bird feeder (wish we knew in advance to bring bird seed, or there was some to buy). Rabbits play on the lawn. Great place for nature lovers. Lots of space for a couple, with large garden. Chairs to sit and enjoy the scenery. A homely vibe that reminded me of my grandmas house (lace doilies, dusty little ornaments, old mismatched furniture, a pile of compact discs and old romance novels, dried flowers etc). We were here in a heatwave so more struggling to keep the place cool but it looks like you could enjoy a cosy fire in winter. Old country house full of character. It is worth warning people with mobility issues there is a rickety uneven staircase with low beam, plus other steps throughout). A challenging drive up a bumpy track that scrapes bottom of your car - track kept in poor condition. Owners seemed very friendly and helpful on the phone (they ask people to telephone their landline before you visit for instructions). A bewildering array of handwritten notes are sellotaped around the house to give more instructions and on day 2 we finally found a rather tatty welcome sheet with WiFi password and more instructions. An email or booking.com message at the start with key info might be easier. Highlights really are the quiet remote location and the beautiful views. It’s a lovely house.

More suggestions than complaints. A few ‘basics’ missing like some decent coat hangers (there’s no wardrobe just a DIY rail just inside the bathroom door). A hairdryer and iron would be nice additions. Kitchen knives were all blunt. Shower was temperamental and just a trickle at times. Bathroom window had no blind which was just weird!! This place could be incredible if a professional cleaner was hired. I’ve never seen so many cobwebs (look up!) A few old sweet wrappers down the side of the chair etc. You expect a few spiders in a country location. I had to remove some large spiders when we arrived - from shower head, another dangling over bath, another near sink, but there were loads more and some hanging from the high beams etc I couldn’t reach.

The property is in an idyllic countryside location equipped with everything you need . The bed was comfortable and the wildlife coming in to the garden were varied and great to watch.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property, although if you have severe mobility issues , there are steps both outside and inside the cottage.
