Location, quiet neighborhood and safe. Also the host Stephanie was great, welcoming and informative, offering her knowledge of hikes and trips around Cape toen.

Very close to the beach in a very quiet neighbourhood.
Only washing machine was missing but the rest was perfect!

The bedroom had a musty smell. There was mould on the walls and curtains, and the bedroom mat (under the bed) was filthy. First morning I woke up with a tight chest as I am allergic to dust and not a smoker as the host is saying in her reply below (My husband is the smoker, get your facts straight). I had to sleep with the kids for the rest of our stay (3 nights) which was very uncomfortable.
The bathroom had quite a putrid smell.
Making people especially with kids stay in a home with mould and dust is absolutely atrocious. It shows absolute disregard for other people’s health.
The other reviews here must be referring to the downstairs apartment because my experience was nothing like they described as we had the upstairs apartment. Even the braai stand was rusted and dirty, still had ash from a previous braai and the grill was not washed. (Probably why the host offered to braai for us as she knew the condition it was in)
For 19k for a one bedroom for 4 nights, I expected at least a clean house. Hosts should not take advantage of the festive season by inflating prices and not delivering to the high standards expected with high prices.
It is very disturbing how unapologetic the host is and wants to pretend the room was clean, and also lying to make herself look good. I have edited my review to add some pictures I sent to her during our stay.
