Richard and Sam were excellent hosts. The food was good

The room was cramped and the hours of operation were limited . On occasions we had to wait for the breakfast room to open after we'd booked a specific time.

I needed to leave early and was kindly offered a BLT to take away with me. Very much appreciated, and quite delicious! Room was a good size, and the bed comfortable. I didn't get there early enough for an evening meal, but friends who did said the food was good.

Not a real negative, but worth noting that as the building is quite exposed, the wind noise can be fairly loud (things flapping about etc outside). If you're a light sleeper then earplugs are recommended.

Room was fine, had everything I needed.

Family run business, so service was mostly friendly and informal rather than professional. Was difficult to find staff on the couple of occasions I tried. I had to phone them to get someone to check me in (not the end of the world, but it was after the advertised check in time). Exception was the teenager who was manning the bar when I came down to dinner. He was borderline rude, and struggled to hide his annoyance that he now had to do something as I was the first to arrive for dinner. They seemed to be trying their best with the food, but unfortunately it was below average. Poor quality catering grade ingredients, not prepared very well.
