Perfection!

The apartment is so well designed for efficiency, comfort, and natural sunlight. It was super clean with all the modern amenities you could ever need. Quiet and private yet located within steps of wonderful restaurants and cafes. The glassed-in center courtyard was such a bonus feature that opened to the sky and it had a spiral staircase that accessed a huge terrace that overlooked trees and offered views of Old Town, the mountains, and gorgeous sunsets. Housekeeping and fresh quality linens were provided during our stay. But the best feature was Effie, our thoughtful host who made our stay special and memorable with recommendations, treats, and a kind and professional sense of hospitality. Don't think twice - book this place!

Lovely apartment in the old town, immaculate, with a great host

Lovely property in the old town, lots of lovely restaurants & only 10 minutes from the Venetian harbour. It’s immaculate, comfortable & our one bedroomed apartment had a lovely sunny balcony. Effie was great, she helped us with plans & transport & was a great host.

Comfortable, clean and perfect location but with a very useful and friendly personal touch.

Clean, modern and perfect for 2 people. Easy access right in the Old Town up 1 flight of stairs. Very nice balcony overlooking the cobbled street below, great for watching other people on holiday strolling through the Old Town. Effie met us on arrival and was attentive throughout our 3 night stay with suggestions where to eat or which beach to visit. She also was very kind and offered home made lemonade on arrival, hand made biscuits and a leaving gift of herbs, olive oil and raki.

We loved our host Effie the most, she was an exceptional host and made us feel right at home. The location is super central, when on the patio you feel the humming of the little town but inside it’s so quiet and peaceful. Every thing you might need, Effie has thought about.

Lovely Apartment in Old Town

The property is right in the center of old town. It’s an immaculate, comfortable apartment with Effie’s special touches to make it warm and welcoming. Effie is an amazing host full of fun ideas of things to do and great restaurant choices and went out of her way to help us in every way. There was free parking along the waterfront right outside the city wall. We enjoyed the outdoor sitting room-great for breakfast and there is a rooftop terrace as well. Comfortable beds, great hot water, great AC in both rooms, well stocked kitchen. Was really perfect for us.

I needed help from Effie in the last minute to arrange the studio for a proposal and she did an amazing job and made sure everything will be ready We will be back for sure and we highly recommend the place.

Effie was a fantastic and caring host for our family. She helped organise airport transfers with booster seats for the children. The apartments are in the best location! Right in the middle of old town, yet once inside you cannot hear the hustle and bustle. Effie gifted us with some local home made drinks and olive oil which is such a lovely gesture! Highly recommended. she had a high chair, cot, toys, linen and even little dressing gowns for our little boys! So lovely!

Best position in the old town

The location is great, being very central to the hustle and bustle of the old town. Effie is the perfect host and the apartment is a credit to her and her family, the terrace area has a great view of one of the main streets of the old town of Rethymno so great to people watch from . Thanks for the treats left on the door they're very nice. The noise from the street doesn't detract from the enjoyment of sitting outside and when inside the apartment in the evening it's very quiet. I would recommend Effies to anyone, but if you have mobility issues you should know that there are 2 flights of stairs to reach the top apartment.

Perfect location. Wonderful host

Effie is the most incredible host anyone could hope for. She went out of her way to make sure we wanted for nothing. Even surprised us with breakfast sweets and such at our door. She was full of suggestions for sites, restaurants with directions for everywhere we wanted to go. The location in fantastic. We could watch on our balcony the hustle and bustle of tourists. Being right in the heart of the town was so much fun and everything was so accessible. Thank you so much for everything Effie- you rock!

Modern, spacious apartment right in the old town

Comfortable, spacious modern apartment in old town. New, fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee machine, oven, hotplates & washing machine. TV with Netflix, BBC etc. Large bathroom. Nice balcony overlooking the street in the old town for people watching and room to hang washing. Air con & wifi. Close to all shops, cafes, bars, Port, bakery, mini market & ATM's. Main Bus station is 20min walk. Can get taxi with luggage to Agora Gate then it is a short walk down the street. Local bus stops are just outside Agora Gate. Effie was a kind, generous & gracious host and left many treats for us.

Stairs to the first floor but this is not a problem if you don't have mobility issues

A superb apartment in the heart of old town Rethymno.

The location is fantastic - right in the heart of the old town. The apartment is in a traditional old town building but has recently been modernised. It is beautifully designed and appointed with all the facilities you would need. We stayed in Studio 2 which has a roof terrace that we used every day and it has nice views of the old town and Cretan hills in the distance. Our flight was delayed which meant we didn't arrive until 3 am, but Effie was there to welcome us and show us the apartment. Effie is a wonderful host who gave us a lot of recommendations and advice during our stay, along with Cretan cakes and treats. The apartment has everything you could need - air conditioning, WIFI and washing machine all worked perfectly. The shower was excellent. This was our 5th visit to Rethymno and Effie's Cosy Old Town Studio is the best place we have stayed. Good value for money and strongly recommended. If you are eating out try Alana or La Boheme for high quality dining. Asikiko and Radodikio both provide lovely street food and are good value (both within 100 metres of the apartment). For a special meal in the harbour try Zephros, but you'd be advised to book.

Perfectly located, with a private terrace looking out over one of Rethymno's squares. In a bustling, lively area but quiet and relaxing in the apartment. The best coffee we had in Rethymno was at the taverna underneath the terrace, covered in pomegranate and lemon trees. Beautifully designed apartment, we looked forward to getting back to it everyday. Effie's apartment and travel tips made the holiday a great one.

Effie truly was the hostess with the mostest. She was very accommodating, giving us lots of recommendations for restaurants which was really appreciated. She had welcome drinks and snacks ready for us upon arrival. Some mornings she would love some local delicacies from the bakery at our door for us to try - a lovely touch! The apartment was spacious and we had a lovely private balcony upstairs too.

Amazing apartment! Everything you can wish for in a holiday! From check in to check out, everything was exceptional. The apartment is new, very clean, well designed, spacious with a big terrace and fully catered for all your needs. In the kitchen you have: olive oil, sugar, salt, pepper, tee, vinegar even spaghetti and a sauce for a quick meal, dishwashing liquid, paper towels, kitchen towels, kettle, microwave, Nespresso machine and capsules, etc. In the bathroom you even have washing machine capsules, firs aid kit, hair dryer, toilet paper, shower gel, shampoo, etc. The towels are soft and very good quality. Location is perfect, right in Old Town, next to restaurants, shops, pharmacy, gelato shops, Rimondi venetian fountain and bus station. Effie is such a lovely person! From the warm welcome and all the tips she gave us until the all treats she let us at the door. She is willing to go the extra mile to make your stay more comfortable and to enjoy the beautiful Rethymno and the surroundings. She waited for us with fruits, sweets, water, juice, raki, a bottle of wine and her smile. Thank you Effie for making our 2 weeks memorable!

Highly recommended, brand new, clean, baby friendly, center location - would book again!

- Efi is an excellent hostess, from the “welcome” to the “see you again”. She will show you around all the amenities of the apartment, give you tips about restaurants & sightseeings, she’s reachable for everything and at any time, the cherry on the cake is the small gestures of true Greek hospitality (like the welcome drinks & food, but also the almost daily “presents” of delicacies outside our door). - We haven’t seen similar baby-friendly apartment (even 5* hotels fall behind). apart from the baby-crib, Efi provided a good quality baby seat with food tray, baby plush toys, baby towels and more! - the apartment is brand new, with minimalistic/modern clean style. - new air condition (well, as aforementioned everything is new, but a new AC matters during summer in Greece). - all in all there’s a great attention to the details (blind-curtains, extra towels, sheet beds etc.) - central location, right in the heart of the old town of Rethymno, but there’s no noise during the night.

Posizione centrale rispetto al paese. Effie è super gentile e disponibile, ci ha fornito un sacco di informazioni e consigli utili per vivere al meglio i giorni che passavamo in questo appartamento. Inoltre Effie ci ha fatto trovare un benvenuto stupendo accogliendoci di persona e mostrandoci sia la casa che le cose che aveva già predisposto per noi (pasta, olio, una bottiglia di vino…). La mattina seguente ci ha fatto trovare fuori dalla porta dei biscotti tipici buonissimi

L’unica forse pecca, essendo nel centro storico, è la difficoltà nel trovare un parcheggio libero. Ma anche in questo caso prima del nostro arrivo Effie ci ha detto delle ottime indicazioni.
