White Desert Camp

The most beautiful place and one of the cleanest places that you feel that you are at home and you are there and all people are good. I stayed there one day. I will continue to remember all my life.

The location was amazing, as well as the food and the welcoming way of the camp staff. We truly enjoyed our stay there. The camp organized multiple activities for us, like camel rides, zip line. We felt very well and really recommend this camp.

Ayed was very attentive and helped us plan some excellent outings to experience Wadi Rum to the fullest. Wael was our guide, he was very knowledgeable and friendly, was great company for the 2 days of outings we went on. The excursions were great and the facilities in the desert were comfortable with amazing views.

Wifi only in the food hall, but that is likely standard for such remote camps.

The room is nice and is accurate to the picture provided. We went on a 4x4 tour and a camel tour. Our guide for these tours also picked us up to and from the camp. This was the only member of staff that we met that was helpful and we tipped him cash. Dinner was nice

Where to start. I quote a description taken from the booking.com page. "Property description White Desert Camp is offering accommodation in Wadi Rum" The property is well outside of the wadi rum preservation area and therefore this is not true. The address listed on my booking is that of the village in wadi rum preservation this is also not true. Despite telling the camp what time we would arrive at the pickup spot and our driver calling the camp to pick us up and being told on the phone 5minutes we waited 30minutes. The pickup location was a coffee shop which wasn't even open so this meant sitting in the sun for 30minutes on a random road. We then arrived at the camp room wasn't quite ready we got let into the room and they were still cleaning this. Not sure why. After seeing to our room there was only two members of staff neither spoke a word of English so communication was difficult. Our toilet would not flush when we arrived and this had to be fixed. We went on our tour(you do not enter wadi rum preservation area for any tour) and came back to the site to be told dinner would be ready at 7. We came back at 7 to be told half 7 but then did not intact eat until 8. No communication was ever made to members of the camp from staff. Before dinner air con stopped working and we went to speak to staff. We were told they swap the generator to make food due to the solar panels. That's fine but why not inform guests this will happen? 22:30 the Aircon was still not on despite all cooking being long finished. I walked back to the main area to advise the chef the Aircon wasn't working. Could not find any other staff. The Aircon was back as staff has forgot to swap the generator power so now the tents were all very hot. There are small lights leading down the path to all tents to guide the way. Only 3 worked. So all guests had to use their phones to find their way. I don't understand why this camp cannot get basics right.
