Inside, the modern design is a minimalist treat with colourful wooden details that give the home its relaxed character and let you settle into the slower daily rhythm of desert life. If you tire of poolside lounging, there are plenty of jaw-dropping hiking trails in the nearby Joshua Tree National Park – just a ten-minute drive away – and even a private trail all to yourself on the property that will lead you to a bench with 360-degree views. In the evening, watch the inimitable sunset before retiring to the luxurious bedrooms for a good night's rest. We promise you will wake up recharged and ready for another day of exploration and relaxation.

*If you're planning to bring pets, you'll need to let the host know in advance – there is a fee of $150 per pet and a two-pet maximum and you'll need to remove their hair when leaving

*One of the bedrooms has no window
*You will need a car for this remote area and there is parking – it's also worth noting it is a steep drive up to the home
*There are stairs to the pool deck area, which may be difficult for guests with limited mobility
