Charming, Comfortable, Convenient, Colourful
We were delighted with our four-night stay at Casa de Campo. In the first place, our suite was large, comfortable and attractive. It was furnished with several pieces of very attractive historic wood furniture. The bed was very large and "just right" for us, the shower was great, there was a large wardrobe, and the Wi-Fi Internet worked well. Our room was nicely serviced each day; that included fresh towels, coffee, and bottles of water. We had dinner twice at the hotel and were pleased with the food and service. What we especially liked were the garden with its diverse plants, the huge, very attractive covered veranda of the hotel, and the numerous works of art and handicraft. The hotel reflects well the traditional refinement of Cuernavaca,and we were fascinated by the contrast between the calm within the premises of the hotel and the frenetic pace just one block away. Indeed it's an easy walk from the hotel to many of Cuernavacas restaurants and attractions, including the Brady Museum, the Borda garden, the Cathedral and the museum within the Cortes palace.
It was not a problem for us, but I would like to point out that there are a few steps at the entrance to the hotel and a steep stairway to our suite. On the other hand the main building has an elevator/lift.

We had such a wonderful stay, we went back again, and I would definitely recommend to anyone!
The hotel grounds were gorgeous. It felt relaxing just being there, like a little oasis in the heart of the city. Everything was accessible on foot and there was plenty nearby to see, do, eat, and drink. The staff - both at the front desk and in the restaurant - was lovely and very accommodating, the beds were ridiculously comfortable, and the food was wonderful!
Expect no internet access in the rooms and, depending where you are, you might be able to hear street noise, especially at night (ask for a higher floor in the back!)

A Negative First Impression

The hotel offers three types of suites, from the cheapest to the most expensive which are junior suite, suite and deluxe suite. According to the booking website, our room matches the photos of junior suite which is the lowest of all three in terms of the prices. The bedroom has fully opaque glass window which means that we cannot see through at all. I booked a mid grade room which was suite with two windows in the bedroom but we were given a cheaper room. I complained to the front desk staff (Luis)after checked in and I was offered to move to the actual room that I booked. We were in Cuernavaca for two nights and did not wish to spend time packing and unpacking. Why didn’t the hotel do the right thing which is being straightforward with their guests, not apologizing after we found out that we got cheated literally cheated. It might not have been an intention to do so but this was not the way anyone in this business treats their guests. I personally think that the hotel could have simply accepted the mistake and should have been more honest with us when we showed up. Even though the difference between the rates of the junior suite and the suite is not significant we were disappointed. This review is generally meant for all travelers to be aware of what they book and what they are given when check in. Although we arrived late and were tired from a long journey we still paid attention to all the details of our reservation.
