100 Year-Old Historic Brick 2BR Loft & Large Patio & Hammocks & High Ceiling

The apartment had a nice quirky warehouse vibe and was centrally located. Free parking was a huge plus and made for convenient returns from outings. The kitchen was outfitted well and there was coffee and filters for our use as well was lots of staples (spices, etc), although we did not cook. The apartment was clean as well as the interiors of the building but the entrance and outside area had litter. Given this is a college town, the apartment complex felt like graduate student housing. The other plus was that management company was reachable and responsive but given the building is managed by another firm, they did not have control over some of these issues.

Many small items did not work, toilet seat was off the hinges (They fixed it after 1.5 days), knob to switch water stream from the tub to shower did not work well, the closet doors in one bedroom did not slide, light switches were detached from the wall or blocked off. Lastly, there were many small plastic plants in the living room and bedrooms so there were not a lot of places to put your items. It was very noisy on Saturday night with loud music till 10:30 and a party until 3 am. The washing machine listed in booking did not mention it was a paid washer and dryer and I paid $5.50 for one load but had to add $10 to the app.

The directions for how to park, enter the building, collect the keys, and park were all very clearly presented in both photo and narrative form, which was quite helpful and very user-friendly. The apartment is exceptionally well-located for all Durham and Duke events and easy to walk to many restaurants and hotels if you are meeting people around town as we were over graduation weekend. The space itself was comfortable and lovely, with soaring high ceilings and the bedroom and bathroom layout perfect for our guests. The smart tv was great - although we were out and about for most of our stay, we did use it to screencast a livestreamed graduation event and it could not have been easier. Having an outdoor space available (with two hammocks!) was delightful. Parking was often available in the surface lot in front of the building, but parking in the secure lot down the street was easy, too. Since we brought our dog with us, it was wonderful to see that there was a cute little dog park in the interior courtyard of the building! We also appreciated that the Trifecta folks were very accommodating when it appeared that we might need to check out a little later than planned.

It would have been helpful to understand that the entrance to the building is off of the parking lot and not the street as we were trying to orient ourselves. That was initially a little tricky - but once we understood the location better, it was easy. Given the premium that we paid for the space (Duke graduation weekend!), it would have been nice to have had a welcome basket, water, or other more personal treats awaiting us when we arrived. Although the unit was clean, there are some basic maintenance and upkeep items that should be addressed such as discoloration/cracking around the tub in the master bathroom and a malfunctioning disposal that coughed up some smelly black liquid and only correctly drained after my handy husband worked on it with a plunger for nearly 30 minutes. It would have been nice if there were dishwashing detergent available, too - we needed to buy some in order to run the dishwasher.

I loved everything about the loft. It was such a beautiful loft. Very clean, the location was wonderful.
