Every time I go to Houston I stay in this hotel. It has a great location, it's a clean hotel and it is really close to everything...and 25 minutes away to the Downtown area

Would I recommend Hawthorn in Kingwood? Honestly, I’m somewhere in the middle. The hotel itself is beautiful, and I’ll definitely give it credit for that. The breakfast was also good.
However, for the price, I expected a much better overall experience.
If you have a service animal, I would be especially cautious. During my stay, I felt that management made claims about my service animal that were not true and attempted to use those claims to justify keeping my deposit and charging me for things I know did not occur. I have stayed at other hotels with my service animal and have never experienced anything like this before.
The AC was absolutely terrible. My room was extremely hot during my stay, and the AC did not keep the room comfortable.
The walls are also extremely thin. I repeatedly had to call the front desk at all hours, especially during the night, because the room next to me had the television blasting while they were playing video games. I could clearly hear gunfire from the game, yelling, and other noise through the walls. Having to repeatedly contact the front desk just to get some peace and quiet made the stay frustrating.
I also didn't care for the location of the pool. It felt very exposed with very little privacy, so I ultimately chose not to use it.
So, yes—the hotel is beautiful, and the breakfast was good. But beauty alone doesn't justify the price. When you're paying what this hotel charges, you expect a comfortable room, functioning AC, reasonable sound insulation, and to be treated fairly when there are disputes about your stay.
For the price, I would not return unless these issues were addressed.
