Villa Iulia Hills

Host was very nice and friendly. The villa is new, so clean it was spotless and has everything they promised and more. Well stocked kitchen, laundry etc. Privacy was amazing, lemon trees all around. Beautiful view of Etna and the ocean from your private pool. Our family of 5 had so much fun there.

Lovely accommodation set amongst lemon trees with a nice pool and views of (an erupting) Mt Etna and the sea. Rosaria, our host, was super helpful and on hand to help with recommendations for places to eat and beaches to visit.

This is a gorgeous property, tucked away in the hills near Etna. We were so lucky when we stayed that she was erupting and we could watch the eruption from our window every day. The villa is beautifully decorated, with lovely modern touches. It’s light and spacious, and felt very luxurious. Being surrounded by an orchard was wonderful. Our little boy adored collecting lemons every morning, and I also spotted figs and oranges. Rosaria was really helpful and met us on arrival to show us the property. This was our final stop on our trip round Sicily and we used it as a base to visit Taormina (beautiful but go early in the day!), Savoca (a hidden gem) and Castelmola (which was my favourite place of everywhere we visited across two weeks). The local beach near Fiumefreddo is lovely and has ample parking. We went to two different lidos and enjoyed them both. We also ate at De Natale Angelo in the village and it was lovely.

Because of the way booking.com lists the property, there are multiple properties at the location. We had our filter set to “properties with a pool” and as there were pictures of a pool on the listing, we assumed the standard villa had a pool- I think it was the only villa left for our dates or else we would have spotted that there were multiple options. It actually had a lovely hot tub and a great outside area. However, just a warning to check carefully which villa you’ve clicked. Not a criticism of the property (which is gorgeous!).
