Lovely large manor house deep in the Medoc wine area, peacefully surrounded by vines. Delightful ground floor room with direct access to the huge garden and private swimming pool. Good size bathroom. air conditioned room.
Excellent typically French breakfast.
Fabulous staff, most helpful and really made us feel welcome.
No restaurants on site but a folder with suggestions in the room (and this had been emailed to us before we arrived), For the first night we went to a bistro, Cafe Lavinal, in nearby Bages (The large Chateau in the region is Lynch-Bages and a free tour is included in the ch. Ormes deal). The second night we went to a fancy Chateau, La Maison D'Estornel, a little further away which was an experience.
My only gripe would be that there was no curtain or screen for the shower over the bath, so the floor got wet. Otherwise our stay was fabulous.
