Lovely space overlooking paradise
Beautiful outlook and had everything we needed. The big deck and outdoor furniture was perfect to relax and look out onto the harbor. The view is priceless. The closeness of the water was awesome. Furniture was all comfy, including the beds and there was a wood burner for the cooler days. Great information is made available about everything. Big beautiful sliding doors from the lounge/kitchen/diner and main bedroom out onto the deck and gates with bolt locks on both ends of the deck for little ones. The wifi and TV options were amazing, especially on a rainy day!
A few things to consider
1. Something to be aware of is the beach access is via a number of steps, but you have access to a wee beach with a grass verge above that is bliss, just be aware it isnt private and take note if access is a challenge. Also recommend some water shoes as can be a bit rocky - but not essential.
2. A washing machine is available le but is very old and tiny..while it works for essentials it isn't appropriate for a full load...or washing a blanket you spilt hot chocolate on (sorry!! And thank you for being so good about it!), however we found out the day we left that there is a laundromat on the main road in Rags if you did need to do a full wash etc.
We had a random lady turn up several times on our second-to-last day, with her child and dog at one point. She parked at the house and freely wandered all around the proi believe she was there to garden? We weren't made aware she would be coming and she didn't introduce herself so it was a bit uncomfortable. We were out on the deck but it was awkward as the privacy was lost as we could be overheard, and could also hear her rustling about all over the place, and listening to her snipping at things detracted from the peace of being on the water a little bit. Imagine that's not the norm, and it had been quite windy the day before so it may have been due to that??
A few minor things but overall it is paradise and we'll worth it!! Highly recommend

A very comfortable 3 night stay.
Lovely views over the bay. Well provisioned. Comfortable beds. Good TV that could stream shows from our phones. Music, books.
Trees next to the bedrooms need pruning as they were noisy on windy nights - but owner replied quickly to our complaint to say this would be done.

Fantastic bach stay in a beautiful location.
Great Bach, Plenty of room, family-friendly, comfy beds, a cozy woodfire for winter and a fantastic view. Feels a lot nicer than staying at an impersonal motel/hotel.
A little far from the shops at Raglan, but worth it for the view.

Great value for money
Great spot. We'll stocked kitchen. Attentive contact. Clean linen. Good supply of firewood. Good value for money
Could have been a bit cleaner, but we were on holiday so it wasn't a drama. Just a few cobwebs, bench was sticky and tabs from can on the floor upon arrival, but no drama. A couple of things that were broken could be sorted...stereo, an outside chair with only 3 legs which sent me sprawling because I didn'tnotice until too late.

Loved the wood fire and position. Brilliant views and great plunger coffee
Hi, just the lack of power points and heating.
The back two rooms were cold, all that was needed was a couple of heaters

Beautiful property
We had a great stay with our small family. The views were beautiful, the house so comfortable and had everything we needed to settle in and enjoy. Location was great too. Nothing we didn't like! Would stay again.

Fabulous. We will definitely be back.
Location was amazing. The deck and outdoor furniture was great for dining and with BBQ facilities. Everything we need for cooking meals for the family was there. Even coffee for the plunger which was so appreciated.
Just the two single beds were a bit uncomfortable for the kids.

Raglan by the Sea
The view, fire, well equipped kitchen, warmth of the house, comfortable beds. Good pillows. Clear instructions, games, books, LP's etc made available.
Toilet (sliding) door is a bit tricky to manage.

Cold, but otherwise good.
the location
it was mid winter and the only heating was a fireplace. However, to get a fire going was very difficult because the wood provided was extremely wet. There should be a heat pump or similar heating provided, considering the prices charged.

Lovely homely feel, we would like to visit again in summer to utilise beach access.
Felt very homely, was very warm, appreciated kids games and drawing supplies, well stocked with everything we needed to cook our own meals etc.
Bed in bedroom overlooking the sea was not comfy, other double bed was. While it was acknowledged as part of the age of the building the external doors could be easilly fixed.

5 nights in Raglan experiencing the cafes and shops
the view and access out to the estuary were nice (although you couldn't walk around the estuary any further than 1 house down)
appreciate it is a Lockwood bach which was not mentioned in the description but really does need some maintenance - the sliding door into the toilet is broken, both sliding doors out to the deck are really difficult to open, the front door doesn't close or lock easily, dining room chairs have no padding in the seat and with accommodation for 6 only 5 dining chairs provided. The outdoor deck is covered in tree seeds that become prickles and get stuck in your feet unless you sweep the deck every day. Take your own tea bags as tea leaves are provided with no teapot. Fly spray would be handy to take as well as well as kitchen scissors. As the crockery is old a few have cracks and tea stains in the cups.

Great seaside location
The location by the sea.. The view from the deck and the large comfortable interior.
The house needs some TLC. The fridge was old and needs replacing. The sliding doors need fixing.

Good
The location was great with the access to the beach - kept my teenagers very entertained.
I forgot how creaky lockwood homes are and that the walls are paper thin.
There was no aircon and the bed in the main room was awful.
The house needed a good clean on the floor and skirtings (and under furniture).
There was a pair of old white man's underwear in the drawer of the corner room (now in cupboard in laundry). And other clothes over the rail outside.

It was an enjoyable stay.
The property is just on the beach with your own private access to the water. The view is breathtaking. There is a huge deck area for you to enjoy. Rooms are spacious and clean.
All the sliding doors and windows are difficult to open and close. Although a wide range of crockery were provided, they are old、dismatched and not clean. I had to wash them altogether before using.
