Host St Ives

The attention to detail of every item placed in the suite was second to none. I have over the years spent a lot of time in hotels etc. this property is beautiful. The layout, design and quality were fantastic. Everything had been thought out to make your stay comfortable, from a superb comfy bed, stunning bath, quality products in the bathroom, amazing shower. Even little gifts left in the fridge. There was even a parking space (a rarity in St Ives). The building itself houses a wine,/cocktail bar and the staff were friendly and efficient. Reviews are a rarity for me, this one is a centrally placed gem.

This is no reflection on the property but I come from the Midlands and the seagulls took some getting used to!!

It was extremely tastefully kitted out obviously by an interior designer.

The rooms was excellent, amazing details and decor. Spotlessly clean, comfy bed, great size room and bathroom. Completely cider, chocolates and milk to go with your tea and coffee. A bath and walk in shower. Great location to walk to everything.

Car park not at venue, can't access the car park until you check in and couldn't extend check out for more than 30mins. None of which we knew about until after booking.

Very little I am afraid. The host was a helpful person but this was not what we were looking for. I was particularly attracted by the availability of air conditioning, but there was little else to be enjoined. I am very disappointed with the poor description of the property by booking.com.

The property is on a main and busy, noisy road. The accommodation is above a pub and a restaurant, which we can be easily hear. The accommodation is full of clutter with very little space to put our stuff. The bath tub was in the main room rather than in the bathroom. There was no luggage racks, which meant putting our luggage on the sofa and tables. We are of senior age with joint problems and we avoid bending, but had no choice. The breakfast which meant to be continental consisted of cereals, yoghurt and fruit and fruit juice with pastries but there was no toast and no butter. Further, despite the presence of a restaurant, the breakfast was served to the room with no option to eat in the restaurant. The shampoo/shower gel was diluted. In my personal opinion, the hotel does deserve a four star rating.
