Great location in Freeland, on Whidbey Island!
Communication with Vacasa could have been better as far as getting in. They left us a door key code, but didn't mention that one needs to FIRST press a small button at the top of the lockbox, THEN enter the code. Once we did it opened immediately, but arriving at night, tired from a long drive and with a cold wind blowing while we were trying to figure out why the code wasn't working, was very frustrating. Finally reaching a Vacasa rep on the phone, she said to try pressing this small button first, then entering the code. I did point out to her that it would be very helpful on their part to mention that WITH the door code in the future. (She was very nice and courteous.)

It was is a beautiful location that was easy to access. Communication with host was phenomenal. Would absolutely stay here again.
Extra batteries… the remote batteries died and we had to purchase our own. Some extra ones kept around would have made it less of a hassle.

Amazing amount of space from the upper floor and view from the deck. Upstairs was nicely decorated and smelt pleasant. Loved the large puzzle and games. The dvd movies for grown ups and kids was also a great thought. The neighborhood was quiet and close to stores and a waterfront park . The backyard was beautiful, well gardened and spacious. Great stay!
The road was close and at times, quite busy. The downstairs was dated and smelled a little dingy but we barely used it.

The property was very clean and in a convenient location to Freeland and Langley.
This was honestly the worst stay I’ve had at a vacation property. To start off, when we arrived it was dark with no porch light and the lock box was in an awkward spot. The lock box was also covered in spider webs and trying to open it in total darkness was not fun. Once we got in the house was extremely cold. The thermostat was set at 60° and it took several hours for the house to warm up to a comfortable temperature. Everyone had to bundle up in extra clothes to go to bed that night. Both the gas fireplace and tv were not working that first evening (the batteries in the tv remote were dead). I called the 1-800 number for the property the following morning. They stated that they would send someone out that day to replace the batteries in the remote but that the fireplace only works in the winter. This is super frustrating because the house was freezing and the Booking.com property description lists the gas fireplace in the first sentence calling it the home’s special feature and no where in the Booking.com description does it say it’s only available in winter. The agent said that the description on the Vacasa site says it’s only available in the winter but I did not book it off of there. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely terrible as well. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a shower with such little water pressure in my life prior to that.
