Kekrifalia Hotel

It was the perfect distant from the port, walkable, but a little out of the way so that it was quiet. There is a beautiful place to swim where you enter into deep water with a ladder, but you can also walk to a sandy beach, full of bars and restaurants just seven minutes away.

No complaints. The only improvement I would recommend is adding a hook in the shower for the showerhead so that you don’t have to hold it.

Wonderful location - calm and relaxing and with a beautiful view. Excellent swimming.

Wi-fi was slow and frustratingly unreliable.

Breakfast was decent with a variety of things and an effort was made to also vary the buffet on a daily basis. It was also possible to just order a breakfast option from the menu. There were very comfortable new beach loungers with thick mattresses in the shade which I appreciated very much. The cleaning of the rooms was very good as beds were made every day by housekeeping and the bed sheets were changed after the first 3 or 4 days.

The thing that I truly did not like were the bathrooms in our maisonette. The one upstairs was large with a huge tub but the shower head had to be handheld and it was very awkward to take a shower if one did not want to splash all over the room. The bathroom on the ground floor of the maisonette was even worse. It was so tiny, no shower curtain or glass wall could be installed between the toilet and the shower. It was like a tiny wet room and as a result the water went all over the floor and toilet. I gave up using it after my first attempt. The sink was very small and installed too low and the water also run off very slowly. The newish toilet seat did not really fit the bowl, and the door could only be closed with some acrobatics due to lack of space. The upstairs floors were also very creaky, and it was impossible to not make a lot of noise and wake up all others when trying to move through the space in the morning. The balconies were right next to each other, so privacy was impossible if our neighbors were on their balconies. There was also no awning to protect from the sun. The mini fridge in the corner had the door opening from the wrong side, making it hard to access things. One had to lean over the door and try to pull things out from above rather than the front of the fridge. Clearly, renovations are very much called for as pertains to these rooms to assure a certain comfort level and meet modern standards. Beach towels were only exchanged on request, so we went with the same beach towel for 3 days. The beach was also rather disappointing as the water was not very deep and there were a lot of rocks. When the nearby ferries arrived and/or left it also smelled bad from the diesel fuel they used. We went to visit other beaches most of the time to make the most of our stay.

Close to the port, yet quiet. Has its own swimming spot, the bar restaurant is great, and rooms were very clean.
