We were pleasantly surprised.

The property is charming and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good and plentiful.

The lack of an elevator and convenient parking made for more strenuous efforts for an old couple.

A great stay!

Excellent service, spotlessly clean, and nicely appointed facilities. Lovely breakfast with GF options. We stayed as last-minute guests with our large dog who was warmly welcomed. Set against the forest it was very convenient for us to walk the dog and visit old castles along the track. Also if you drive electric there are chargers available within walking distance.

A slight inconvenience is that the hotel sits on a one-way street so if you miss it you have to go around a loop to get back. The hotel is not in the town centre so be prepared to walk a bit or drive and park.

Really nice stay in a beautiful hotel in a really pretty area of Germany.

The location was a little bit of a walk from town but the view from the room was very beautiful onto the forest on the other side of the valley. The staff were lovely and very accommodating with our dog and the breakfast was delicious!!

The hotel was perfect - quite expensive but I think well worth it.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY!

The staff were all super nice! We had an early flight and check out starts at 8am, she let us pay early and told us to just leave our cards inside the room. She also prepared food for our drive to the airport and delivered it to us the evening before. It was great since we had to wake up at 4:30am. The breakfast was delicious, I miss it so much! The location was perfect from the gas station cornee store, restaurants, and downtown Idar-Oberstein as well as a 6 min drive or 25 min walk to the castle. Will definitely return to this hotel. Ps. For 3 euros per load, they also do laundry, which saved us big time, we stayed 8 days & and nights, so it was a huge help!

Nice building and atmosphere in the hotel and a very friendly person serving breakfast - she was the only one we have met...

Rooms were pretty cold when we arrived and were smelling a bit "old" and fusty- maybe the room had not been used for quite some time - same in the bathroom. Blankets were super thin - the Italian summer version ... and the first night was pretty cold overall. Luckily we had blankets in the car for night 2. For this price I do expect more and am used to better quality I have to say.

Breakfast was outstanding. Beyond that, the staff members went out of their way to accommodate unique and spontaneous requests.

Better explanation at the front door, which was locked. The instructions were in German only. It would have been nice to have an elevator for the higher floors. It is understandable, however, that a retrofit would be very expensive. We should have asked for a room on the lowest floor. Better instruction on parking.

Nice clean property with very helpful staff.

We enjoyed the hotel accommodations, the friendly staff and and breakfast food quality. Newly remodeled and provided with a free room upgrade. Refrigerator in the room was nice bonus.

Location was on main street so with windows open there was quite a bit of road noise. Location was a little bit out of the way and parking wasn't quite self-evident but ultimately satisfactory.
