Babel Siem Reap Guesthouse

Super clean, friendly guesthouse. Massively exceeded our expectations (which were not low!) Fab bar and restaurant downstairs. Exceedingly helpful, friendly staff. We loved this place and will recommend it to anyone who asks!

Walls were a little thin, for sure, although we did not suffer any issues with this as other guests were very courteous and quiet at night time. No fridge in room which was a bit of a bummer.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Probably the best place we have stayed thus far in our travels - a beautiful property in a perfect location, excellent bar (with proper cocktails available!)/restaurant, helpful and friendly staff, banging air con - what more could you want? Loved the eco friendly vibe too. They organised a tour of Angkor Wat for us and truly, it was brilliant. Our guide, Kim, was unparalleled in his knowledge and energy. He also is a photo wizard! We had such a wonderful time with him and would recommend you book the tour with the guesthouse just to have him as your guide! All in all, a great experience we would 100% repeat if we return to Siem Reap!

There isn’t a lift but this wasn’t an issue as the staff were super kind and helped us with our bags. Just to be aware if you have many many bags/prams etc!

We booked this accommodation as part of our honeymoon trip from NZ because it looks tidy, had a nice pool and the description highlighted the focus on couples, solo travels etc. overall the pool is nice, the room is spacious and the restaurant makes really good food.

Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our stay here because this is actually a family focused guesthouse which is not widely advertised on Booking.com. Due to the guesthouse nature the walls are thin and you can hear through the walls and above/below you. The pool was not relaxing due to how many children were constantly in it and some parents thought it was acceptable to have their kids running around, throwing things, screaming etc. well past 10pm. The bed was also way too hard and the bathroom sink and toilet had constant water sitting next to it - I told the staff but they weren’t bothered. After our second of 5 nights I contacted the property to ask to be moved to their Hotel because we couldn’t put up with all of this any longer, fortunately they were able to move us there for no additional cost, it was nicer than the guesthouse and we are grateful.
