Really spacious and comfortable place in an old monastery. Pretty details kept here and there, and everything you need to feel like you have a home away from home. The hosts mother met us and explained everything to us, even with no English this went smooth. It’s close to everything- Main Street, beach, restaurants. The city beach was beautiful, though there were big waves because of a windy day when we where there.

The noisy old man (drunk? Sick?) in the backyard. But the windows were seriously efficient for blocking out sound, and you have to give it to the Sicilians - they sure give you that local culture feeling shouting from the balconies!

Lots of space and light. Perfectly located in old town for bars eats and beach. Good comms by owner.

Spacious apartment. Well equipped kitchen. Good air con in bedroom. Good WiFi although you tether from a mobile phone in the apartment. Good location - close to the waterfront and restaurants. Clean and quiet street.

The apartment is a bit too cluttered. The apartment is set so when you take the key out to leave the apartment, the electricity switches off. We had to contact the host as there was no WiFi who said the router was a mobile phone on the living room. We had to switch on the hotspot which wasn’t easy as it was all in Italian. We had to figure that out for ourselves. The electricity temperamental as it went off twice during our three-night stay - once for several hours, so we had to go out to eat. Too many keys on key ring, none of which can be removed. If you don’t speak Italian, communication is a problem because you have to translate everything and the messages received don’t always make sense. Host not around, only via messaging on Booking.com. Mother deals with everything. Specifically told by host to bring money for the city tax. We had to get money from an ATM for this before we arrived, but the mother didn’t have any change. As we had to pay immediately, even though we were there for 3 nights, she got some change, but not enough to give us the change in full. We eventually got all the change back when she had to come back to reset the electricity. Host defensive when given constructive feedback. She said she doesn’t consider it a business even though she advertises on a commercial site (Booking,com) and takes money from the public to stay at the apartment. We are paying customers, so it is a business, and we expect a professional service which accepts feedback in the spirit of which it is given.

We spent 4 nights here, great spot for exploring the area. Nice area to explore on foot and the apartment was very spacious. The host and her mom were very welcoming and available. Lots of restaurants close by and an easy walk out to the water. We really appreciate the hospitality. Worth mentioning that we did not cook at home other than morning coffee but the kitchen is set up well if you choose to stay in and have a meal.
