IL GIARDINO DI ATHENA

Location was unbelievable - you look over the garden fence at the famous temples. We were doing that at all hours of the day, taking pictures. The garden is an olive grove, with a table and chairs outside the property - great if you aren't attractive to insects (I'm not, my wife is!).

Only real thing is that there is only one comfortable chair. Otherwise you sit at the table. It wasn't clear from the Booking.com site what languages the host speaks; we had to use a translation app, but we got there!

On logeait aux portes du centre archéologique avec vue sur les temples grecs. Très grand appartement et très grande cour. Équipement complet.

Le gros problème a été de trouver l’appartement. Il serait apprécié de recevoir plus de détails pour le trouver car le GPS ne se retrouve pas à travers les ruelles et le site archéologique. On a tourné en rond plus d’une heure et même les gens du coin n’arrivait pas à nous aider. L’entrée se fait en passant dans le parking d’un restaurant et même rendu là, c’est très peu indiqué. Ça commençait mal notre séjour! La personne qui nous a reçu était bien gentille mais ne parlait ni français, ni anglais. Un anglais, même rudimentaire aurait été apprécié.

Posizione, basta percorrere il giardino bello con gli ulivi, e sei praticamente dentro i templi di Paestum. Molto suggestivo. Bella la casa, e molto pulita. Noi eravamo già organizzati, ma ricordatevi che è una casa nel cuore di Paestum, consiglio di arrivare preparati se volete fare colazione in casa. Per i pasti principali c'è anche un libretto preparato dalla proprietaria con i vari consigli.

. It is a beautiful house. It is very old, but perfectly updated to retain the reality of the 19th century, but have all the modern conveniences. Being able to wake up and go to sleep with the view of a temple was beyond anything I could have imagined. The hosts went out of their way to do unexpected wonderful favors for me that I wouldn’t even have asked, for they just thought of them for me, and it was so gracious. The kitchen was stocked with things I didn’t even expect. everything. It was just wonderful. The train station was within walking distance, but the host made it not necessary for me to walk. The air conditioning is a little bit temperamental, but I didn’t go to 2500 year old ruins for the air-conditioning.

The bed could be a little more comfortable, but then I am quite old so that could have affected my experience
